Da Nang businesses speed up labor recruitment to expand production

VOV.VN - The labor market is improving as businesses in Da Nang city are actively recruiting workers and expanding production scale.

In the first 3 months of this year, many businesses in Da Nang city had high orders, so the need to recruit new workers was very large.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, Director of Daiwa Vietnam Co., Ltd., Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, said: “Currently, there are quite a lot of orders, so the company has a lot of labor recruitment needs, about 300 people, but recruitment is very difficult. To retain employees, the company has a seniority policy, the longer you work, the higher your salary. That is a policy to support diligence. Previously, when recruiting, employees were required to submit their application, but now they only need to send their phone number or citizen identification card to come for an interview. The company has changed many policies to make it as convenient as possible for employees.”

Currently, unemployed workers are mainly in the service and tourism sectors, while the recruitment demand is mainly for unskilled workers, focusing on the textile, sales, mechanical, and security industries. Mr. Mai Xuan Tu, Director of Da Nang Friendship Joint Stock Company, said: “Because of the increase in orders, we have to promote labor recruitment in many forms, through social networking channels. We go to neighboring localities through the Employment Promotion Center to ask for recruitment notices. We support travel expenses during the recruitment process, and secondly, support housing and introduce housing to workers. The orders are increasing, so we promote labor to ensure production resources.”

Many small and medium-sized enterprises are also actively seeking and adding more workers (both seasonal and permanent). According to a survey by the relevant authorities, since Tet, many enterprises have had quite abundant orders, and the rate of workers returning to work has been relatively stable. However, enterprises are facing the risk of labor shortages to be able to expand production scale.

According to statistics from the Employment Service Center, Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City, since the beginning of the year, the unit has organized 10 job fairs, with 194 businesses registering to recruit more than 16,000 labor positions, however, only more than 500 workers who registered were recruited.

Mr. Huynh Gia Son, Deputy Head of the Employment Service Department, Employment Service Center, Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City said: Many businesses have introduced preferential policies for employees such as: increasing social welfare, supporting diligence, raising children, house rent, gasoline in addition to salary... "The labor market has started to become active again, the number of job seekers has also increased compared to the beginning of the year. We regularly update recruitment information and interact with businesses and job seekers on social networking sites to recruit workers. Businesses need to recruit jobs such as in the garment and electronic components industries, the recruitment demand is high but the number of workers has not met the needs of businesses. The center actively promotes information and connects with businesses to interview workers".
