In recent years, the circulation and distribution of goods through the provincial postal network has been effectively implemented. Many post offices and postal-cultural points have become familiar places for people to shop for consumer goods, especially in rural areas.

With the requirement of innovating the operation of Vietnam Post Corporation, in the past 10 years, BĐT has done a good job of distributing goods, basically meeting the consumption needs of the people. Many essential goods such as milk, cooking oil, fabric softener, fish sauce... have been distributed to points of sale such as post offices, BĐ-VHX. Along with that, BĐT also applies information technology to manage goods at post office transaction points, as well as making good use of the delivery network to fully and promptly supply goods to points of sale to serve the people. BĐT has selected products that ensure quality, with clear origin...

Ms. Le Thi Lien, Deputy Head of the Organization - Administration Department (Thanh Hoa BDT) said that in order to distribute essential goods to people, in addition to cooperating with Vietnam Post, BDT also cooperates with a number of suppliers in the province such as: Hoang Gia, Ngoc Thang, Anh Khoi, Tien Son... At the same time, deploying a number of regional specialties, OCOP products and other quality products such as: Ba Lang fish sauce, perilla tea, pennywort, massage oil products,... During holidays and Tet, BDT also provides additional seasonal products such as: Tet gift packages, cakes, candies, moon cakes...

To improve the quality of customer service, BDT continuously organizes training courses to improve the qualifications, skills of customer service and care; and standards for preserving goods for postal staff so that their working style becomes more thoughtful and professional. BDT also accepts people's comments to continuously improve and enhance product quality. At the same time, there are often incentive programs and discounts for customers when purchasing products that the post office is providing... Thanks to that, the number of people buying goods through the postal channel is increasing, creating diversity in the goods distribution network.

Currently, Thanh Hoa province has 78 post offices and 573 postal service points in operation. If in the first years of implementing consumer goods distribution, sales revenue only accounted for about 5 - 6%, now it has increased to 15% of total service revenue. At many service points, consumer goods revenue accounts for about 30 - 40% of total service revenue, such as: Postal Service Points Quang Chau, Quang Minh (Sam Son City); Postal Service Points Dong Hoa (Dong Son); Postal Service Points Dan Luc, Dan Ly (Trieu Son), Postal Service Points Tho Truong, Xuan Tan (Tho Xuan)...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, Minh Thien village, Quang Minh commune (Sam Son city), said: "When buying goods from the post office, I feel very secure because I don't have to worry about fake or poor quality goods. All the items here are Vietnamese goods with reasonable prices. The most convenient thing is that if there is a need, the BĐ-VHX staff will bring the goods to your home.

It is known that, in order to encourage people to shop, in addition to selling directly, Quang Minh Post Office also promotes and introduces products on social networking sites such as Facebook and Zalo. For villages far from the commune center, whenever there is a schedule for collecting electricity bills and paying pensions, Quang Minh Post Office staff also proactively bring a few essential products to introduce to people, this method brings great efficiency. Many people who did not know have now become "loyal customers" of the post office. The amount of goods consumed has also increased, revenue from selling consumer goods at the Post Office has accounted for about 70% of total monthly service revenue.

Ms. Duong Khanh Ly, Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Post Office, said: “To promote the distribution of goods through the postal network, the Post Office has promoted the communication of the products that the post office is providing. From introducing products on-site, the Post Office requires all employees at all Post Offices to promote consultation anytime, anywhere. At the same time, coordinate with suppliers to build incentive programs for people when purchasing goods at post offices. In addition, taking advantage of the development opportunities of e-commerce, the Post Office also supports and creates over 70,000 accounts for cooperatives and agricultural production households, bringing regional specialties and OCOP-certified products to the e-commerce platform of Vietnam Post Corporation, postmart.vn.
