The workshop was attended by many scientists, managers, researchers, lecturers and representatives of the armed forces of Military Region 7. The workshop received 42 presentations on many topics: Protecting ideological security, maintaining political stability and national defense: history of struggle, achievements of 50 years and lessons learned; economic, cultural, educational and integration development: the leadership role of the Party and promoting the strength of great solidarity...
In his opening speech, Mr. Pham Ngoc Hai, Principal of the Provincial Political School, stated that the workshop “Tay Ninh – 50 years of liberation and development” was held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Tay Ninh province (1975–2025), to summarize the half-century of construction and development of the locality. This is not only an opportunity to look back on the achievements, but also an opportunity to assess the challenges in the next stage of development.
On April 30, 1975, Tay Ninh was completely liberated, marking an important historical turning point, opening a new period in the construction and development of the province. Over the past 50 years, under the leadership of the Party, the government and the solidarity of the people, Tay Ninh has made strong progress in many fields.
From a purely agricultural province, Tay Ninh has risen to become one of the localities with a dynamic economy, developing towards industrialization and modernization. Industrial parks and border economic zones are increasingly effective, attracting investment, creating growth momentum for the province. The agricultural sector has a strong shift with a high-tech agricultural model, sustainable development, increasing product value and competitiveness in the market.
Tay Ninh's trade, services and tourism have also made great strides. The commercial infrastructure system is increasingly complete, many commercial centers, supermarkets, and wholesale markets have been invested in and built, creating favorable conditions for the circulation of goods. In particular, Tay Ninh tourism has developed strongly with attractive destinations such as Ba Den Mountain, Cao Dai Holy See, the special national historical site of the Southern Central Bureau Base, and Dau Tieng Lake.
People's lives are increasingly improved, the quality of education and health care has many positive changes. The school system has been invested in and expanded, meeting the learning needs of local children. People's health care is focused on with many medical facilities being upgraded, applying modern technology in medical examination and treatment. Social security, poverty reduction, and care for policy families are always given attention, contributing to improving the quality of life for disadvantaged people.
Tay Ninh is also one of the leading localities in the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, creating a spacious and modern appearance for residential areas. Tay Ninh is a province with many ethnic groups living together, of which the Khmer people account for a significant proportion. The local Party Committee and government always focus on preserving and promoting the national cultural identity, while supporting economic development and improving the lives of ethnic minorities in the area through preferential policies on education, health care, employment and infrastructure development in areas with a large population.
Transport, electricity, water and telecommunications infrastructure has been invested synchronously, connecting with provinces in the region and neighboring Cambodia, facilitating socio-economic development. Key routes such as National Highway 22B and Trans-Asia Highway are being upgraded and expanded, helping to shorten travel time and promote trade. Tay Ninh's urban system is increasingly expanding, Tay Ninh City and district and town centers are invested in and developed in a modern and sustainable direction. New residential areas and urban areas are planned synchronously, focusing on developing green spaces, technical infrastructure and public utilities, contributing to improving the quality of life for people, creating momentum for the overall development of the province.
Tay Ninh has an important strategic position, bordering Cambodia with a border of more than 240km, 3 international border gates, 3 main border gates, 10 secondary border gates, many openings and trails. Over the past 50 years, the province has always maintained political stability, firmly protected border sovereignty, and contributed to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border area. Local armed forces are regularly strengthened and trained to improve combat readiness. Border patrol and control work has been strengthened, effectively preventing security violations, smuggling and illegal entry and exit.
Tay Ninh also pays special attention to defense diplomacy, closely coordinating with the Cambodian government and functional forces in maintaining security and order, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development in border areas, and strengthening solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
Over the past 50 years, the work of building the Party and the political system has always been identified by Tay Ninh province as a key task, playing a decisive role in the sustainable development of the locality. The provincial Party Committee has constantly innovated its leadership methods, improved its governing capacity, and performed well the work of political ideology, organization, inspection, and supervision, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the leadership of the Party.
The province currently has 585 grassroots party organizations with 34,690 party members, demonstrating the strong development of the Party organization in the area. Party member development has always been of interest, especially among young people, female cadres and ethnic minorities. To date, the province has admitted 78 Khmer party members, bringing the total number of ethnic minority party members to 305. This contributes to strengthening the representation of ethnic groups in the political system, ensuring leadership work is close to local realities.
In addition, the province has stepped up the work of preventing and combating corruption, practicing thrift, combating waste, improving the quality of cadres, civil servants and public employees, aiming to build a clean and strong government apparatus. These efforts not only improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management but also create an important driving force for Tay Ninh to develop rapidly and sustainably in the coming period.
Besides the great achievements, Tay Ninh is facing many challenges in the development process: the growth rate is not really sustainable, the quality of human resources has not met the development needs, the inter-regional transport infrastructure is still limited, some cultural and social fields still have a gap compared to other provinces in the region... These issues require the province to have a suitable, creative and breakthrough development strategy in the coming time.
