On the morning of August 15, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet chaired a national online conference to disseminate new documents to accelerate the recovery and development of tourism effectively and sustainably. Attending were the Director General of the General Department of Tourism. Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh, Deputy Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu.
At Cao Bang bridge, Comrade Sam Viet An, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired. Attending were leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.
At the conference, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Tourism Ha Van Sieu reported on the content and solutions to recover and accelerate tourism development effectively and sustainably in the spirit of Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP and Vietnam's tourism marketing strategy to 2030.
Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP dated May 18, 2023 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to accelerate recovery and accelerate effective and sustainable tourism development was issued with 7 main tasks and solutions including: promoting the restructuring of the tourism industry towards professionalism, modernity and sustainability; continuing to facilitate attracting international tourists to Vietnam; increasing investment attraction for tourism development with focus and key points, focusing on national tourist areas; developing products and communicating, promoting and advertising tourism; supporting tourism businesses; improving the quality of training and human resources; accelerating digital transformation, promoting startups and innovation in the tourism sector.
The Vietnam Tourism Marketing Strategy to 2030 was approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the goal of promoting and positioning Vietnam as a leading attractive tourist destination in Southeast Asia, affirming the brand and competitiveness of Vietnam tourism, contributing to the implementation of the goals of the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030.
Next, the conference listened to the Head of the Department of Tourism Promotion Management (Vietnam National Administration of Tourism) Nguyen Quy Phuong report on the content of some models of developing night tourism products. The goal by 2025 is to have at least 1 model of night tourism products in 12 provinces and cities; Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City will form separate night entertainment complexes; form separate night entertainment complexes. By 2030, expand to form separate night entertainment complexes in 9 provinces and cities; develop synchronous night tourism products; form night tourism product brands.
Promising models for developing night tourism products include: cultural and artistic performances; sports, health care and beauty activities; night shopping and entertainment; night tours; introducing culinary culture and night food services.
Accordingly, many specific solutions were proposed such as: investing, upgrading facilities, diversifying and improving the quality of products and services; organizing unique and attractive sightseeing and experience programs; upgrading transportation equipment; proposing mechanisms and policies to attract investment in infrastructure construction; strengthening inspection, examination and control of goods quality; strengthening destination management.
Concluding the conference, General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh requested localities to continue to effectively implement tourism development contents; businesses and people must join hands to develop the tourism industry. Promote the effective implementation of Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP dated May 18, 2023 of the Government, aiming to develop tourism comprehensively and extensively to maximize internal resources, mobilize and effectively use external resources, continue to improve competitiveness and gradually build and position the Vietnamese tourism brand. Accelerate and take more drastic actions to create breakthroughs in tourism development. Consider businesses and people as the subjects, tourists as the center, products and infrastructure as the foundation, advanced and modern services as the driving force for tourism development. Quickly grasp new tourism trends, orient business opportunities for tourism enterprises, aiming to develop Vietnam's tourism into a truly spearhead economic sector in the spirit of Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW dated January 16, 2017 of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector.
