In the scientific topic “Pham Phu Thu - portrait of a reformer”, there is a new perspective of the filmmaking group about a famous mandarin under the reign of King Tu Duc. From the second half of the 19th century, he proposed a series of reforms in the fields of economy, education, national defense, diplomacy... to help the country escape the invasion of French colonialism. Some solutions were effectively implemented by him. Due to the limitations of the times, Pham Phu Thu's policy of self-reliance and reform was not successful, but the lessons on educational innovation, science and technology, multilateral diplomacy... that he proposed still have current significance in the cause of building Vietnam today.
