Traffic police recommend

In the days leading up to Tet, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department recommends that people check their vehicles and documents when participating in traffic according to regulations, ensuring the technical safety of the vehicle when participating in long-distance routes. Regularly update the traffic safety situation on mass media to keep up with the route.

"People need to strictly comply with the law when participating in traffic, follow the slogan "don't drive if you drink alcohol"; drive at the right speed, in the right lane, on the right road section; obey traffic lights, and wear helmets according to regulations for motorbike riders, including electric motorbikes," the Traffic Police Department recommends.

Also according to the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, when participating in traffic in urban areas, festival venues, and places with traffic congestion, people must absolutely comply with the regulations of the authorities.

When participating in traffic in bad weather, drizzle, fog, slippery roads, people need to reduce speed, pay attention, turn on low beams and ensure a safe distance to prevent traffic accidents.

How to move in foggy weather?

Speaking to Dan Tri reporters, a representative of the Traffic Police Department said that drivers need to keep the habit of carefully checking the entire warning light system, brakes and tires before setting off. Because some vehicles are only equipped with white fog lights instead of yellow fog lights, which will not be effective when moving in dense fog conditions.

The Traffic Police Department also recommends that drivers keep a few pieces of yellow or red plastic in their vehicles to stick to their headlights when necessary.

According to the Traffic Police Department, when the fog is thick, you can turn on the hazard lights and turn signals to help other vehicles identify you. In case the vehicle is equipped with fog lights, you should turn off the headlights to increase the effectiveness of the yellow light.

In addition, drivers need to keep a safe distance between vehicles, drive in the correct lane, use the accelerator evenly, use the brakes appropriately, do not accelerate suddenly, do not brake suddenly and especially do not turn the steering wheel suddenly, which is also a way to minimize risks when participating in traffic in foggy weather.

Next, drivers need to focus on observing and turn on warning signals to let other vehicles know, to avoid unsafe distances between vehicles.

Also, drivers should listen to the sounds of traffic on the road when you can’t see. According to the Traffic Police Department, drivers should open the car window a little to be able to hear better what is happening outside the car.

The Traffic Police Department recommends that drivers must maintain speed within the permitted limit, always comply with traffic safety regulations and calmly handle unusual situations. In particular, drivers should not overtake when driving in dense fog.

"While driving, drivers should take advantage of the roadside and road markings as well as traffic signs to help with orientation. If you feel unconfident and inexperienced when driving in fog, call for help," said the Traffic Police Department.

In addition, according to the Traffic Police Department, drivers are absolutely not allowed to stop their vehicles in the middle of the road. If it is necessary to stop, they should find open areas, avoid traffic routes, and do not forget to turn on the hazard lights.

"People need to strictly comply with the regulations of the road traffic law, especially the regulations on speed, pay attention, keep a safe distance, drive in the correct lane and road section. When the fog is thick, drive slowly, turn on low beams, use fog lights, and lights with yellow light to increase visibility," the Traffic Police Department emphasized.
