WATCH CLIP:
At around 6:15 p.m. on March 11, while on duty to prevent traffic jams in the Pham Hung - Tran Binh area (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi), Senior Lieutenant Dang Thai Thinh - Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi Police) received a request for assistance from a young man in a taxi with license plate 29H-871.XX.
"The young man's face looked very worried. He said his father had nasopharyngeal cancer, had just coughed up blood and needed to go to Tan Trieu K Hospital immediately. Because the street was crowded, the taxi could not move quickly," said Senior Lieutenant Dang Thai Thinh.
In an emergency, the young soldier reported to the unit and then used a special motorbike to lead the way, helping the taxi quickly get through the traffic jams.
"During the process of guiding the route, I felt very stressed. On one hand, I was worried about the patient's health condition, on the other hand, I had to concentrate highly on controlling the large-displacement motorbike and ensuring traffic safety," Senior Lieutenant Thinh shared.
Lieutenant Thinh said the distance from Pham Hung Street to Tan Trieu K Hospital was more than 10km. During this process, the taxi driver coordinated smoothly with him. When he reached the hospital gate, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"I feel very happy to have done something meaningful. This is also the responsibility of every traffic police officer when seeing people in difficulty," said Senior Lieutenant Thinh.
It is known that the son who asked for help from the traffic police is Mr. HT Son (born in 2003, residing in Dan Phuong district, Hanoi).
Mr. Son emotionally expressed: "When I saw my father suddenly vomit blood, I was extremely panicked, just hoping the car would get to the hospital as soon as possible. But the road was too crowded, the longer I waited, the more worried I became. Luckily, we met the traffic police who supported us and arrived at the hospital in time. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the traffic police who led the way and the entire Hanoi traffic police force. Thanks to this help, my family has overcome the most difficult time."
