The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District has just provided detailed information on the renovation plan for Ly Thai To flower garden and the location of Km0, located next to the walking street space of Hoan Kiem Lake.

Ly Thai To Flower Garden is located in Trang Tien Ward with an area of ​​10,040m2, bordered by Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thach, Le Lai and Ngo Quyen streets. With an important function in connecting Hoan Kiem Lake with the surrounding area including: Dien Hong Flower Garden, the square space in front of the State Bank; valuable architectural works such as the Office of the President, the Hanoi Party Committee Headquarters, the People's Council - People's Committee of Hanoi, the Metropole Hotel...

According to the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, Ly Thai To Flower Garden is one of the important public spaces in the center of the capital, associated with the landscape of Hoan Kiem Lake and many valuable architectural works. After more than 20 years of use, the current state of trees is not suitable, the grass and walking paths have degraded, and need to be renovated to ensure the landscape and functionality.

The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District has completed the preparation for investment in the Ly Thai To flower garden renovation project with the goal of renovating against degradation, adding urban equipment associated with effectively promoting the historical and cultural values ​​of the Hoan Kiem Lake area.

Specifically, the flower garden space will be reorganized into 3 main areas: Khanh tiet area, Nha Ken yard area and flower garden park area.

In which, the Khanh tiet area includes the lobby, Khanh tiet yard and incense offering yard. Expand Khanh tiet yard towards the sidewalk of Dinh Tien Hoang street, with Km0 located at the center of Khanh tiet yard.

The Nha Ken yard area will re-plan the green tree system and the Nha Ken yard area to increase the usable area.

The Flower Garden Park area is organized into two main axes: including the Trumpet House - State Bank axis; Office of the President - Children's Palace. Expand the courtyard in the middle to organize activities. Arrange a water music system along the East - West axis. Add a public toilet and a tourist information center in this area.

In addition, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District plans to expand the flower garden space connecting with Le Lai, Le Thach and Dinh Tien Hoang streets; Paving the flower garden area and the roadbed of Le Lai and Le Thach streets; Painting and paving the roadbed of Dinh Tien Hoang street to connect the flower garden area and Hoan Kiem Lake.

In this area, shade trees are replaced, unsuitable trees are removed, additional trees are planted to increase the shade area and landscape of the flower garden; Landscape lighting system and urban equipment are added to meet new usage functions.

Hoan Kiem District will install the Km0 milestone at Khanh Tiet Stadium Center with the consulting unit being the group of authors who won the first prize in the Km0 milestone design competition organized by Architecture magazine - Vietnam Association of Architects and Hoan Kiem District People's Committee in 2020.

Regarding the project implementation progress, Hoan Kiem District People's Committee informed that construction is expected to begin in April 2025 and be completed in October 2025.
