Yen Bai launches emulation movement in 2025

Yen Bai - On the afternoon of March 24, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to summarize the emulation and reward work in 2024, deploy tasks and launch the Patriotic Emulation Movement in 2025, and at the same time commend, honor and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements, advanced models in various fields and in emulation movements.

Attending the Conference were comrades: Tran Huy Tuan - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Ta Van Long - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; Standing Committee of the People's Council, leaders of the People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, leaders of the National Assembly Delegation of the province; leaders of agencies, units, and localities belonging to 14 emulation blocs of the province; typical and advanced models in 2024.

The year 2024 has many difficulties and challenges, especially the severe consequences caused by the circulation of storm No. 3 (Yagi). However, in response to the emulation movements launched by the Central and the province, the 57 emulation blocs and clusters of the province have been proactive, flexible, organized and implemented promptly and effectively, linking emulation movements with the implementation of political tasks in each locality, agency and unit.

Thanks to the emulation efforts of all levels and sectors, in 2024, Yen Bai continued to maintain a good economic growth rate; trade and services recovered strongly, with remarkable growth; the growth rate of total product in the province reached 7.91%, ranking 7th out of 14 provinces in the Region and 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide; by the end of 2024, the poverty rate decreased by 3.48% compared to 2023 (exceeding the plan by 0.18%); The multidimensional poverty rate ranked 15th out of 63 provinces and cities, improved by 5 places compared to the beginning of the term, and ranked 4th out of 14 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee Secretary Tran Huy Tuan, he presented the Independence Medal to the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Nam and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Me, Au Lau commune, Yen Bai city.

The province has completed 100% of the target of the Housing Support Project for poor and near-poor households with 3,022 houses in the 2023-2024 period (one year ahead of schedule). Notably, in 2024, due to the impact of storm No. 3 Yagi, the whole province had 1,523 houses that collapsed, drifted, completely collapsed, had to be urgently relocated or were severely damaged and needed support to rebuild and repair. To date, 100% of the houses have started construction.

In addition, patriotic emulation movements in the socio-cultural field have many highlights with cultural, sports, festival and tourism activities; the quality of education - training, and people's health care has been improved... Emulation movements to build grassroots organizations of the Party, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations have been promoted. National defense and security, social order and safety have been maintained...

In their speeches at the Conference, typical advanced individuals clarified some outstanding results achieved in the patriotic emulation movements in 2024 and proposed solutions to continue effectively implementing the patriotic emulation movements in 2025.

Launching the emulation movement in 2025, comrade Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Chairman of the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council emphasized: The tasks of 2025 are more numerous, more difficult, and require more stringent requirements. With the historic decisions of the Central Government, Yen Bai has set the following goals: Complete the overcoming of natural disaster consequences, promote the recovery of production and business, and actively promote economic growth. Comprehensively develop culture and society, improve the quality of life and happiness index of the people. Ensure national defense and security. Focus on building a clean, strong, streamlined Party and political system that operates effectively and efficiently.

Strive to achieve the highest results in the targets and tasks of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress. Strive for economic growth in 2025, over 10.5% in favorable conditions. With the theme: "Promoting the implementation of three strategic breakthroughs, actively attracting investment; proactively and promptly overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, soon stabilizing life and production, contributing to promoting sustainable socio-economic development, ensuring a prosperous and happy life for the people; successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels", the whole province will focus on a number of key goals and tasks:

Firstly, continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the policies, guidelines, directives, resolutions, and guiding documents of the Central and the province on emulation and reward work.

Second, continue to effectively implement emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Committee in conjunction with effectively implementing the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels and the Resolutions, Action Programs, projects and policies of the province in 2025 and the period 2021-2025.

Third, compete to successfully and comprehensively implement the main targets according to Action Program No. 246 dated December 6, 2024 of the Provincial Party Committee, Resolution No. 154 dated December 10, 2024 of the Provincial People's Council on the socio-economic development plan for 2025, striving to exceed 32 socio-economic targets;

Fourth, comprehensively develop the socio-economy in the direction of "green, harmonious, unique and happy", pay attention to and take care of social security, improve the quality of the living environment, enhance the material and spiritual life and happiness index of the people (Strive for the poverty rate to decrease by 1.5%, the Happiness Index to reach 68.3%, ensuring that by the end of 2025, there will be no more temporary or dilapidated houses in the province).

Fifth, ensure national defense and security, maintain political security, social order and safety, improve the efficiency and quality of internal affairs; strengthen the prevention and fight against corruption and waste. Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of security and order, synchronously implement measures to prevent, attack and suppress crimes. Strive to reduce traffic accidents in all three criteria...

Sixth, promote administrative reform, focusing on reforming administrative procedures, improving the investment and business environment, striving for the Provincial Competitiveness Index to increase by 2 levels or more; the Administrative Reform Index to increase by at least 2 levels or more compared to 2024. Improve the quality and efficiency of investment attraction; strive to attract and approve investment policies for over 60 projects, prioritizing investors with financial potential to invest in large-scale projects, using advanced technology, environmentally friendly, and with high investment efficiency.

Seventh, innovate and improve the quality of emulation and reward work. Focus on discovering, nurturing, summarizing and replicating advanced models in all areas of social life. Do a good job of inspecting and supervising emulation and reward, emulation blocks and clusters.

Comrade, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations to vigorously launch a vibrant, widespread, practical emulation movement, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's political tasks. In particular, in the context of implementing the apparatus streamlining revolution, facing new opportunities, with a glorious mission, requiring heavier tasks, the Provincial People's Committee calls on all levels, sectors, localities, armed forces, economic sectors and people of all ethnic groups in the province to promote the tradition of solidarity, the will to be self-reliant, arouse the spirit of innovation, creativity, aspiration for development and dedication to compete for the highest achievements, successfully implement the contents of the emulation movement set out in 2025, creating an important premise and motivation for the province to break out, step firmly into the era of development, for the happy and prosperous life of every citizen.

Responding to the launch of the patriotic emulation movement in 2025, the leaders of Yen Bai city - representatives of agencies, units and localities belonging to 14 emulation blocs of the province affirmed the determination of the locality to concretize the contents of the emulation movement, promote and replicate typical models, advanced examples, constantly innovate in organization and implementation so that the emulation movement spreads in all fields.

At the Conference, 58 collectives and 79 individuals with outstanding achievements were honored to be awarded emulation titles and forms of commendation. Among the collectives and individuals awarded at the conference, 2 families were awarded the Independence Medal, 8 individuals were awarded the First Class Labor Medal; Second Class; 7 individuals were awarded the Third Class Labor Medal; 14 collectives were awarded the Emulation Flag of the Government; 03 collectives and 31 individuals were awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Prime Minister; 28 collectives were awarded the Emulation Flag of the Provincial People's Committee for 28 collectives; 21 individuals were awarded the title of Yen Bai Provincial Artisan; 13 collectives and 10 individuals were awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
