Attending and directing the ceremony were Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Colonel Nguyen Trong Dung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Provincial Police Department, chaired the ceremony. Attending the ceremony were Deputy Directors of the Provincial Police Department, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, Standing Committees of Party Committees and People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and leaders of the police units.
At the ceremony, Colonel Phan Ngoc Tinh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, announced Decision No. 1103/QD-BCA, dated February 26, 2025 of the Minister of Public Security on the dissolution of the district, town, city police and affiliated organizations of Vinh Long province. Accordingly, the police of 8 districts, towns and cities of Vinh Long province will be dissolved from March 1, 2025.
At the same time, the Provincial Police announced decisions on the transfer and appointment of department-level and district-level police leaders; and decisions on the arrangement of team-level leaders and commanders of police units and localities. The new organizational structure of the Provincial Police has 26 department-level units and 102 commune-level units.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi acknowledged and highly appreciated the urgent and active spirit of the Provincial Police in the work of arranging and streamlining the organization of the local police apparatus in the direction of "comprehensive province, strong commune, close to the grassroots". To continue to effectively implement all aspects of police work in the coming time.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that the Provincial Police Department's Board of Directors should pay attention to directing professional units to coordinate in developing procedures and regulations for coordination between forces, departments, branches and sectors to create synchronization and unity, avoid duplication of responsibilities, and absolutely not interrupt work, affecting the quality of service to the people.
Urgently direct the organization of Party Congresses at the grassroots level; develop a personnel plan for the Provincial Public Security Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
Focus on political and ideological education for officers and soldiers, especially those who are mobilized and assigned to new jobs, need to uphold the sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties, regularly improve legal and professional knowledge, actively study and grasp functions and tasks to advise, propose, direct, operate, and organize the implementation of tasks with the highest efficiency.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that the leadership of the Party Committee, the Provincial Police Department, the Party Committees, leaders and commanders of units, especially the commune-level police, will successfully complete the task of ensuring political security, maintaining social order and safety, contributing to the successful implementation of the local socio-economic development task.
