On the afternoon of July 18, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) held a conference to collect comments on the draft report to be submitted to the 9th National Congress of the VYU for the 2024-2029 term. Attending the conference and contributing comments were outstanding young people, artists, young businessmen, reporters, etc.
Information from the conference said that the draft has been consulted 9 times with relevant organizations and units. The notable highlights of the draft are 2 key projects expected to be implemented in the 2024 - 2029 term, including: Project "Youth participation in preserving and promoting Vietnamese national cultural identity in the period 2024 - 2029" and Project "Solidarity, gathering of young workers and young laborers in the period 2024 - 2029".
The representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union said that these projects aim to carry out the union's key tasks in the coming term, with the continued implementation of the major movement "I love my Fatherland".
At the conference, delegates suggested many practical solutions to promote the youth movement. Dang Cat Tien, the 2023 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face, suggested that it is necessary to develop a Global Network of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals, creating conditions and an environment for young people to apply research inventions to life; connecting long-term support for young people's scientific projects.
Outstanding young teacher Chu Duc Ha believes that associations need to pay attention to the spiritual life of students and have consulting channels to minimize negative impacts on students, especially in the context that students are facing financial problems, academic pressure, and social expectations...
At the conference, many opinions also expressed the hope that associations should coordinate with departments, organizations, and localities to create conditions for young people to participate in preserving and promoting national cultural identity. In addition, associations need to support young people in finding opportunities to study, innovate, and start a business.
Some opinions also hope that the Vietnam Youth Union needs to have more forms of attracting and gathering young people; better promote the inspirational capacity of typical young people in various fields; seek more resources to support youth movement activities...
Information from the conference also said that the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029, is expected to take place in December 2024, in Hanoi.
