After receiving information about the suspected food poisoning at Tram Anh chicken rice restaurant on Ba Trieu street, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province, causing many people to have symptoms of stomachache, nausea, diarrhea, fever and are being treated at medical facilities in the area, the Food Safety Department sent a document to the Khanh Hoa Department of Health.

More than 100 people suspected of being poisoned by Tram Anh chicken rice in Nha Trang had to be hospitalized for treatment.

Specifically, the Food Safety Department requested the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health to urgently direct medical facilities in the area to focus resources on actively treating patients, and if necessary, request support for professional consultation with higher-level hospitals.

At the same time, temporarily suspend the facility suspected of causing food poisoning, organize an investigation to determine the cause of the food poisoning according to regulations; take food samples and specimens and promptly send them to the nearest designated testing unit for testing, determine the cause and publicize the results to promptly warn the community.

The Food Safety Department also requested the Khanh Hoa Department of Health to direct relevant units to organize and coordinate propaganda and education for people on food safety knowledge and measures to prevent food poisoning, in order to raise awareness, change behaviors and habits that do not ensure food safety in choosing and using food, and not use food of unknown label, origin, or source.

According to the report of Khanh Hoa Province Department of Health, by the end of March 14, the total number of suspected food poisoning cases after eating chicken rice at Tram Anh restaurant was 222, of which 157 cases had to be hospitalized for treatment, 55 cases were examined and prescribed medicine to take home.

"The suspected poisoning patients being treated all have stable vital signs and are conscious. A few patients still have symptoms of nausea and loose stools and have been transferred to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for treatment. In general, the cases are under the professional control of medical facilities in Khanh Hoa," the report of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health informed.
