Head of the Hanoi Food Safety Department Dang Thanh Phong said that the Department has issued Plan No. 09/KH-CCATVSTP to ensure food safety for the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly to effectively control food safety, detect early, handle, and minimize food poisoning that affects the health of delegates attending the session.
The 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly will take place from February 12 to February 18, 2025. Accordingly, there are 5 locations to serve delegates attending the session. That is the meeting location, the National Assembly House (No. 1, Doc Lap Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi).
Hotels and guesthouses where delegates eat and stay: National Assembly Guest House (27A Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem); Convention Center (37 Hung Vuong, Ba Dinh); La Thanh Guest House (266 Van Phuc, Ba Dinh); Amy Hotel (No. 1 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Ba Dinh).
At 5 points serving delegates, the delegation checked legal documents and recorded information about the origin and source of food.
In particular, the delegation inspected the kitchen, facilities, compliance with food safety regulations such as sanitation of the facility, surrounding sewers, equipment for processing, preserving, and storing food, employee health, and implementation of wearing masks, hair covers, not using rings or watches when handling food, using tongs to pick up cooked food; and checking food sample storage tools.
Along with that, the delegation also inspected the warehouse for storing raw materials and food; the food preparation and processing stages; checked the menu of meals served to delegates and the storage of food samples.
Through on-site inspection, the delegation noted that all locations serving delegates met food safety requirements as prescribed. The interdisciplinary delegation requested that restaurants, hotels, and locations serving delegates maintain and implement synchronously and effectively food safety activities; and prevent and combat food poisoning.
Head of the Hanoi Food Safety Department Dang Thanh Phong stated that during the National Assembly session, the Hanoi Food Safety Department also arranged teams to inspect and supervise food safety at locations, hotels, and restaurants serving delegates.
The unit requires the on-duty teams to conduct three-step inspections of the meeting service points. In which, the on-duty teams fully implement three steps from purchasing food ingredients to the process of transporting, preserving, processing and using food and keeping food samples according to regulations. At the same time, perform rapid food testing and hygiene regimes for food containers.
In addition, the mobile team on duty at the unit promptly responds to and deploys investigation and handling plans when food poisoning or food-borne diseases occur.
