On the afternoon of March 5, 2025, in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held a handover ceremony to receive the National Academy of Public Administration under the Ministry of Home Affairs to Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Director of the Academy attended and chaired the ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan.
According to Decision No. 214-QD/TW dated December 28, 2024 of the Politburo on the functions, tasks and organizational structure of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Academy is an agency under the Party Central Committee, under the direct leadership of the Politburo and the Secretariat.
The Academy has 6 affiliated academies: Regional Political Academy I (headquartered in Hanoi); Regional Political Academy II (headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City); Regional Political Academy III (headquartered in Da Nang City); Regional Political Academy IV (Can Tho); Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, Academy of Public Administration and Management.
After taking over the functions and tasks of the Central Councils of Theory and Science and merging with the National Academy of Public Administration, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics reduced the number of focal points from 54 to 31 department-level focal points. After the merger, the National Academy of Public Administration became the Academy of Public Administration and Management, with its headquarters in Hanoi and two branches in Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Nam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, said that implementing Resolution 18 of the Party Central Committee, implementing the conclusions of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Home Affairs to merge the National Academy of Public Administration into the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. The merger process was carried out strictly in accordance with the regulations of the Party and the State.
On behalf of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the Academy and political organizations of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac welcomed and thanked the functional units of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, and the National Academy of Public Administration for their active coordination in the past time so that the merger and handover of the National Academy of Public Administration into the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics was carried out effectively, in accordance with the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat.
Comrade Nguyen Duy Bac said that the implementation of Decision 214-QD/TW is an important step, and practical problems will arise during the implementation process. However, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac believes that with the spirit and political determination of the leadership and civil servants, the political tasks of the National Academy of Public Administration and its achievements over the past 60 years of construction and development will continue to be continued and strongly promoted in the new organization, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. This is not only an opportunity to inherit existing values, but also an opportunity to reform, innovate, improve the effectiveness of training and research, and contribute to the cause of national construction and development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Ba Hoan, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs expressed his confidence in the leadership and direction of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in improving the quality of training and fostering civil servants. He affirmed that this is not only a change in organization, but also reflects the strategic vision of the Party and State in developing high-quality human resources for the country; it is a historical turning point in the more than 60 years of development of the National Academy of Public Administration, from a unit under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Academy has become a member of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, opening up new development opportunities in the current context.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan hopes that the Board of Directors, each cadre, civil servant, public employee, and employee of the National Academy of Public Administration will continue to fully perceive that the merger into the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics is a new opportunity, a new chance for the National Academy of Public Administration to continue to affirm itself and contribute more to the career of training and fostering the contingent of civil servants and public employees of the political system.
