Ministry of Construction guides review of urban planning, assessment of quality of administrative units

BPO - On the morning of August 7, at Binh Phuoc bridge, leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches attended an online conference to give comments on the draft document "Guidelines for organizing the review of urban planning, rural planning, and implementing the arrangement of urban administrative units at district and commune levels for the period 2023-2030" organized by the Ministry of Construction.

Pursuant to Conclusion No. 48-KL/TW dated January 30, 2023 of the Politburo on continuing to reorganize district and commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2030 period, in conjunction with ensuring proper implementation of the viewpoints of Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2023 of the Politburo on planning, construction, management and sustainable development of Vietnamese urban areas to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the Ministry of Construction has issued the document "Guidelines for organizing the review of urban planning, rural planning, and reorganizing district and commune-level urban administrative units in the 2023-2030 period".

Accordingly, the document focuses on providing guidance on reviewing urban planning, urban development programs, and assessing urban quality and classification for urban administrative units at the district and commune levels that have been reorganized in the 2019-2021 period, and reviewing planning to implement the plan to reorganize district and commune administrative units in the 2023-2030 period. In addition, the document also provides guidance on assessing urban quality for urban administrative units at the district and commune levels formed after the reorganization.

Based on the comments of central ministries and branches, and the difficulties and problems of localities during the implementation process, the Ministry of Construction will provide specific instructions for each arising case, and continue to perfect regulations on the implementation of administrative unit arrangement at district and commune levels in localities, contributing to ensuring the arrangement of administrative units according to the set schedule.
