The conference was connected online to 63 provinces and cities nationwide. Implementing resolutions and directives of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Government, there have been many drastic directions to remove difficulties, resolve bottlenecks, and avoid wasting resources, especially in projects related to land, renewable energy, public investment, and state-owned enterprises.
In 2024, the Government focused on handling outstanding issues such as the mandatory transfer of 4 weak commercial banks, resolving 12 loss-making projects of the Industry and Trade sector, and improving the efficiency of housing and land use at state-owned enterprises.
However, waste still occurs in many areas, especially land waste is very serious with thousands of projects using inefficiently, causing great losses, affecting people's trust, creating barriers to national development.
At the meeting, ministries, branches and localities also reported on the situation and proposed solutions to remove obstacles in public investment, site clearance, planning, land law, capital sources and financial capacity of investors.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the view that preventing and combating waste must be like "daily food and drink", so it must be implemented continuously and without stopping. The Prime Minister requested the mobilization of the entire political system, businesses and people to participate, determined to thoroughly handle loss and waste.

In particular, focusing on key tasks and solutions: Preventing and combating corruption must be associated with streamlining the apparatus, cutting administrative procedures, increasing decentralization; associated with implementing three strategic breakthroughs and combining the goals of economic development, innovation, science and technology, and digital transformation.
At the same time, review and urgently complete institutions, especially review wasteful and prolonged projects, propose timely and effective handling mechanisms and policies. Thereby, aiming to improve the efficiency of resource use, promote sustainable economic development in the coming time./.
