My Son Cham Temple Complex is a world cultural heritage located in Duy Phu Commune, Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province (commonly known as My Son Sanctuary). My Son Sanctuary is located in a closed valley with majestic mountain terrain. Here, with more than 70 temple towers of the Champa civilization, contains historical, cultural, architectural and artistic values created from the 4th to the 13th century. Time and war have severely damaged the relics, but what remains in My Son still plays a very important role in history, culture, architecture and art with global value.
In December 1999, My Son relic site was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since then, tens of millions of visitors have come here to visit and research. The talented architect Kazik (Polish) who has been associated with My Son for many years said: "The ancient Champa people put their spirituality into the soil and rocks and knew how to rely on nature to create a magnificent, solemn, and majestic My Son. This is a priceless museum of architectural sculpture and art of humanity that we will have a long time to fully understand." The relics of My Son temple complex are the most important and also very mysterious works of the ancient Champa culture. Most of the works are made of baked bricks with stone pillars and decorated with sandstone reliefs depicting the legends of the Ganges - India civilization.

With a history spanning nearly a thousand years, My Son is a place that marks the brilliant and unique development of Champa art. Next to the main tower (Kalan) are towers worshiping many other gods or deceased kings. Many Champa architectural styles are affirmed and developed in this relic complex. As the religious center of the ancient Champa kingdom, My Son has an important spiritual position in the community, is the spiritual support of the ancient Cham people, and is also a unique and valuable work of art for humanity. Here, every brick and corner of the tower carries historical and cultural value created by human creativity. We came to My Son Sanctuary on a day in mid-May 2017, when the first excavation of 2017 had just stopped. The leader of the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board said that during the excavation and restoration of the My Son K tower group, archaeologists discovered 2 statues with human bodies and lion heads. The discovered statues include a statue with all its limbs broken (only the torso remains) and a relatively intact statue, about 1.2m high; roughly carved and blurred in sandstone. Initially, according to experts' guesses, these two statues could be lion statues or Hanuman monkey statues used to decorate the front gate of Tower K, which is one of the ancient towers of the Champa dynasty. In particular, the excavation team also discovered an 8m wide ancient road led by two parallel walls (each wall is 0.6m wide), buried at a depth of nearly 1m below the ground. Initially, the artifacts and the road were determined by the Indian and Vietnamese experts to date to the same period as the construction of Tower K (11th-12th century). My Son Sanctuary is a place where typical and unique sculptures converge, a vivid and authentic testimony to the history of one of the cultures in Vietnam. The My Son relic complex has outstanding global value and is the common pride of humanity. After the country was completely unified, the restoration of My Son relics was carried out and the heritage restoration activities were applied according to international standards, with a team of domestic and foreign scientists working together. On December 30, 2008, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1915/QD-TTg with administrative and budgetary measures for the master plan of the My Son relic complex for the period 2008-2020. This is an important legal document to promote the preservation and promotion of the historical, cultural and artistic values of the My Son temple complex not only for Vietnam but also for humanity.
