According to Mr. Ngoc Anh, with the orientation of sustainable tourism development towards potential markets, the strategy and master plan for Vietnam tourism development with a vision to 2030 (approved by the Prime Minister) identifies golf tourism as an important specialized product that needs to be invested in and developed strongly in the coming time. Many experts believe that Vietnam has full potential and opportunities to become "Asia's golf paradise".
“However, in reality, golf tourism products in Vietnam are still very limited due to the small number of golf courses, the proportion of international tourists coming to Vietnam to play golf is not high in the total number of international visitors to Vietnam. The connection between travel agencies and golf courses is still limited, golf tourism is not connected with other types of tourism such as MICE, caravan; there are no professional awards, golf courses are not linked with each other as well as there are no solutions to promote golf tourism products in a systematic way. These are also issues we can discuss today,” Mr. Ngoc Anh suggested.
At the workshop, about 60 delegates listened to presentations on the overview of Vietnam's golf industry in the past 10 years and the vision for the next 10 years; Connecting tourism with sports in general and golf in particular in the locality; Developing young golf, improving the capacity of the management team and golf referees. In addition, the workshop also mentioned the potentials and challenges in Vietnam's golf tourism; Promoting communication in the golf field...
The workshop aims to provide a comprehensive view of the current state of the golf industry in Vietnam, with contents revolving around important issues such as professional and youth golf development strategies, infrastructure planning, human resource development, promoting golf services and tourism, technology application, and media impact on the sport. At the same time, at the workshop, delegates also proposed a number of strategic solutions to promote the sustainable development of the golf industry.
