Today (October 11), at the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper Hall, the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee - the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Behavior of Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, organized a seminar on "Solutions to recover corrupt assets in Ho Chi Minh City".

The discussion was chaired by comrades: Ngo Minh Chau, member of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity of Ho Chi Minh City; Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Van, Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper.

In recent times, thoroughly implementing the directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the City Party Committee, and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in the work of detecting and handling cases, cases, and recovering lost and misappropriated assets in criminal cases of corruption and economic crimes; the city's prosecution agency and relevant functional agencies have implemented and applied many measures according to regulations to increase the rate of asset recovery. However, the recovery rate has not yet been ensured as required.

Ho Chi Minh City is the leading economic, financial, commercial and international integration center of the country. This characteristic leads to many complicated developments in security and social order. It is one of the two leading cities in the country in terms of the number of criminal cases detected and resolved.

Corruption and negative cases not only cause serious losses of State assets, but also affect people's trust in the Party. Therefore, recovering lost and misappropriated assets in corruption and economic criminal cases is an urgent task, requiring determination and continuous efforts from leaders at all levels, functional agencies and the whole society.

The seminar aims to discuss and identify challenges and difficulties in the recovery of corrupt assets, thereby proposing practical and specific solutions to improve the effectiveness of the recovery of corrupt assets, focusing on strengthening coordination between prosecution agencies and competent authorities, creating positive, synchronous and consistent changes in the recovery of assets from the inspection and examination stages to the investigation, prosecution, trial and execution stages.
