The iPad Mini will be the first tablet to support new Apple Intelligence features that Apple is touting as the future of its devices. These include text rewriting tools, an updated version of Siri that can use personal context, and additional in-app features like a “cleanup” tool to remove people or objects from images.
The new iPad mini combines powerful performance and versatility in an ultraportable design.
The iPad Mini hasn't been updated since 2021 and therefore doesn't support AI tools or other recently launched features, like the Pencil stylus.
The new update uses the A17 Pro chip, from last year's iPhone 15 Pro. Apple has said that the advanced processor is needed to run Apple Intelligence - which means that only the iPhone 15 Pro and this year's iPhone 16 series will have access to these new features.
In addition to bringing new AI tools, the A17 Pro will also bring better graphics performance and faster processing when using apps. The update also doubles the storage options, supports new versions of WiFi and Bluetooth.
The new iPad Mini starts at $499 overseas. Customers can order it today (October 16) and it will be available on October 23. The new Apple product comes in four beautiful colors, including new blue and purple, and features a brilliant 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display.
The new iPad mini has all-day battery life and delivers a whole new experience with iPadOS 18. Starting at VND 13,999,000 for the version with 128GB of storage - double the storage of the previous generation - the new iPad mini is extremely attractively priced while delivering the complete iPad experience in an ultra-compact design.
The iPad Mini tends to get fewer updates than its larger siblings, but it's expected to be popular with many users, as Apple offers professional apps for pilots, doctors, and others who might need a more portable device than the iPad Pro and a larger screen than the iPhone.
The versatility and advanced features of the new iPad mini are taken to the next level with support for Apple Pencil Pro, opening up entirely new ways to be more productive and creative. The 12MP Wide camera on the back supports Smart HDR 4 for more natural-looking photos with increased dynamic range, and uses machine learning to detect and scan documents right in the Camera app.
“There is no other device in the world like iPad mini, loved for its combination of powerful performance and versatility in our ultra-portable design. iPad mini appeals to a broad range of customers and is designed for Apple Intelligence, delivering new features that are smart, powerful, personal and private,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.
“With the powerful A17 Pro chip, faster connectivity, and support for Apple Pencil Pro, the new iPad mini delivers the complete iPad experience in our most portable design at an incredible price,” Borchers said.
