Accordingly, there are at least 3 products that Apple fans expect to have an upgrade before the end of summer.
- Command Center: this is the all-new smart home control center, 7-inch screen, built-in speaker, FaceTime-enabled camera and proximity sensor for dynamic interface adjustment.
According to Mark Gurman, the device will have an iPad-like design and could launch as early as early 2025. The Command Center is expected to have an A18 chip and support Apple Intelligence. Gurman also said it could be mounted on a desk or wall with built-in speakers.
However, Gurman also noted that the device could be delayed until later this year due to its dependence on features in iOS 18.4 and iOS 19.
- AirTag (second generation): Apple is planning to release this device in mid-2025 (according to Mark Gurman). However, other sources say the device will be released earlier in May or June.
AirTag 2 is equipped with an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip for 3x the tracking range, better Vision Pro integration, and an anti-spoof speaker for enhanced anti-tracking measures.
The AirTag 2 design won't change much from the current model and will still maintain the $29 price tag.
- Mac Pro: According to Bloomberg, the product will be upgraded this summer.
Initially, the product was expected to be equipped with an M4 Ultra chip, but the new Mac Studio is equipped with an M3 Ultra chip, so this is not certain.
According to Apple, the M4 Max will not have UltraFusion connectivity, so it is not possible to combine 2 M4 Max chips into an M4 Ultra. Thus, the new Mac Pro can use the M3 Ultra chip - Apple's current most powerful Max chip.
- iOS 19: Apple plans to launch iOS 19 at WWDC in June 2025 and will officially release it in September with the iPhone 17 series.
One of the biggest changes is likely to be the Camera app, which has a visionOS-inspired interface. New apps like Invites, Apple Sports, and Apple Playground also have a more modern look, using transparency effects, animated buttons, and content-optimized design.
