Singapore named a new orchid species after General Secretary To Lam and his wife. This is a diplomatic ceremony that Singapore reserves for special high-ranking guests. Accordingly, Singapore decided to name this new flower "To Lam Linh Ly".

During his official visit to the Republic of Singapore, on the morning of March 12, General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly attended the orchid naming ceremony at the National Orchid Garden of the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
At the ceremony, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong personally welcomed General Secretary To Lam and his wife at the main gate of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and invited them to the flower naming ceremony venue.
Accordingly, Singapore decided to name this new flower "To Lam Linh Ly".

The orchid naming ceremony is a diplomatic ritual that Singapore reserves only for special high-ranking guests visiting Singapore.
The leader of the National Orchid Garden said that this new orchid species was crossbred from an orchid species naturally distributed in Vietnam and a species in Singapore.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented a souvenir to the Director of the National Orchid Garden.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens was established in 1859 and is Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage Site (July 2015), with tens of thousands of orchids, including about 1,200 natural species and more than 2,000 hybrids. It is considered the world's largest orchid display.

Earlier, General Secretary To Lam and his wife visited and laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument at the Asian Civilisations Museum. Located next to the Singapore River, this is the only museum in the region dedicated to exploring Asia’s artistic heritage; depicting the historical connections between Asian cultures and between Asia and the world.
In the large space of the museum, the Ho Chi Minh President Statue is solemnly placed with the statues of many other Asian leaders and celebrities. General Secretary To Lam, his wife and the delegation offered flowers and respectfully commemorated the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, the Hero of National Liberation and World Cultural Celebrity.
