DNVN - Using MediaTek's new dual-radio interconnect (NR-DC) and Keysight's Network Emulation Solution, we have increased 5G IP data throughput to nearly 12Gbps in a lab environment.

The achievement, announced by Keysight, helps ensure MediaTek's solutions are ready for next-generation applications including immersive gaming, ultra-high-definition streaming and low-latency cloud computing.

High throughput simulation in 5G testing is critical to enhancing user experience with faster data rates, supporting advanced applications such as artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR), and ensuring efficient use of network resources.

Achieving exceptionally high throughput in mmWave spectrum is a major milestone in the development of the 5G ecosystem.

This capability prepares networks for future data demands, providing a competitive advantage for manufacturers and carriers, and ensuring robust, high-performance connectivity for modern and future applications. Rigorous laboratory testing and validation are critical to ensuring that 5G chipsets can handle complex real-world scenarios and deliver superior performance.

Keysight’s network emulation solutions provide advanced network simulation capabilities that enable device manufacturers to stay ahead of the curve in 5G. These solutions simulate real-world 5G network conditions, enabling MediaTek to replicate complex scenarios in a lab environment, achieving nearly 12Gbps of 5G data throughput with its new new non-radio-dual-connect (NR-DC) device. This achievement enables MediaTek to continue delivering superior performance and efficiency to meet the demands of next-generation applications and maintain a competitive advantage in the market.

“Achieving exceptionally high throughput in mmWave spectrum is a major milestone in the development of the 5G ecosystem,” said Dr. Ho-Chi Hwang, General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communication Systems and Partnerships Group. “Our collaboration with Keysight has demonstrated unmatched connectivity and performance, paving the way for more powerful 5G experiences for both consumers and various business verticals.”

“By collaborating with MediaTek, Keysight continues to accelerate the development of the 5G ecosystem by continuously improving 5G performance,” said Peng Cao, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Wireless Test Group. “This collaboration enables faster, more efficient communications that support next-generation applications and deliver superior connectivity.”
