The school representative admitted that the meal did not meet both quality and appearance standards.
In recent days, social networks have been spreading images of the boarding lunch at Albert Einstein Inter-level School with only a few dishes as if for people on a diet. According to the image posted by parents whose children study here, the lunch on October 9 at this school only has white rice, a few pieces of tofu stuffed with meat, 2 pieces of boiled corn, a little soup and a banana. After posting, the online community was very interested and left many comments saying that the above meal was too small. Many people even compared: "The lunch at an international primary school is thought to be for children to eat to lose weight".

Speaking to Tien Phong reporter, Mr. Nguyen Gia Viet, Principal of Albert Einstein School, confirmed: “The meal posted on social media is the lunch for grades 1, 2 and 3 at the school at noon on October 9. Looking at the image above, I am also not satisfied with the meal, both in quality and appearance. The school's Board of Directors has held a meeting to request the departments that ordered the food to clarify the quantity and price of today's meal and the whole week. From there, we will consider and come up with a clear plan to ensure meals for the children."
Albert Einstein High School (SAE) is a private institution funded by the World Bank through the Ha Tinh Investment and Development Fund according to international scale and standards of general education. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school has 1,918 students in grades 1-12, of which the primary school has nearly 1,200 students.
According to the Principal of Albert Einstein School, the weekly menu for students is prepared in advance and sent to parents for review and comments. The school also established a Food Monitoring Committee with the Board of Directors and about 50 parents to inspect and supervise the meals for students. The daily meals for students (including breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack) are VND48,000/student for grades 1-3; VND50,000/student for grades 4-5; VND56,000/student for grades 6-9 and VND60,000/student for grades 10-12.
The October 9 lunch meal posted by parents on social media was for 3rd graders at the school. With daily lunch meals, the menu changes, the price of meals for primary school students is around 20,000 - 30,000 VND/child. After the incident, the school apologized to the parents involved in the students' meals, and from October 14, it will arrange 2 savory dishes for students instead of one dish as at present. In addition, the school menu will be prepared 1 month in advance and parents will be asked to give their opinions to reach a consensus. After reaching a consensus, the school will finalize and announce the weekly menu so that parents can understand it more easily. The school will also ask departments to develop menus, publicly disclose the quantity and price of appropriate meals each week and send them to the group for parents to understand.

Regarding the incident, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh said that he had asked the responsible officers to inspect and work with the school to grasp the information and determine whether the quantity of food rations for students at the school met the requirements. After the incident, the Economic and Environmental Police Department - Ha Tinh Provincial Police also sent officers to work with the Board of Directors of Albert Einstein School to inspect compliance with regulations and standards.
