(NLDO) - Lottery agents in Tra Vinh have instructed people who have two lottery tickets that have won the jackpot but are torn to submit a request for the lottery company to resolve the issue.
Over the past few days, social media has been abuzz with a clip recording Phu Vinh lottery agent (Ward 3, Tra Vinh City, Tra Vinh Province) instructing a person with 2 lottery tickets that won the special prize but were torn to go to the commune to make a confirmation request and send it to the lottery company.

The reporter contacted Mr. Phu Vinh, the owner of the above ticket agency, and Mr. Vinh confirmed that it was true.
"The two winning lottery tickets were from Hau Giang Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. The winning number was 916303, drawn on February 1 (the 4th day of Tet). On February 2, a man brought the two lottery tickets to my agency for guidance because both tickets were torn, missing the head and tail, only the middle part remained. The winning number on one ticket was only 9163 and the other ticket was 91630. This man said that he bought the lottery tickets, put them in his pocket and went down to the pond to catch crabs, so they got wet and torn," said Mr. Vinh.
According to Mr. Vinh, there have been cases in the past where people won the lottery but their tickets were torn, so the agent instructed them to fill out a form to confirm with the commune and send it to the lottery company.
2 special winning lottery tickets were torn and damaged
2 lottery tickets that won the special prize with the number 916303 were exchanged by the agent for the man's younger brother.
Mr. Vinh said: "There are many cases where the winning lottery tickets are torn but the pieces can still be put together and the numbers are clearly visible. After being instructed by the agent to go to the commune to make a request and send it to the lottery company, they will be paid the prize through the account number. In the case of the above man, I also gave the same instructions. The agent also paid the prize of 3.6 billion VND (after tax deduction) to the above man's younger brother because he also won the special number 916303 but the ticket was intact."
The person who won the two torn lottery tickets mentioned above is Mr. TKM (40 years old; living in Tra Vinh). Mr. THD (Mr. M.'s nephew), shared: "My uncle bought 10 lottery tickets with the number 916303 and gave 8 to his siblings and relatives, of which 1 was given to my mother, and he kept 2 for himself. After buying, he put them in his pocket and went to catch crabs and pick coconuts. In the afternoon, he often won the jackpot, so when he looked for them, the 2 lottery tickets were torn. His spirit is now broken."
Mr. D. said that the family was instructed by Phu Vinh agent to make a request and send it to Hau Giang Lottery One Member Co., Ltd., but the company refused to pay the prize.
On the afternoon of February 4, speaking by phone with Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Van Thang - Director of Hau Giang Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. - said that yesterday he went on a business trip and heard from an employee that there was a case of a person bringing a torn winning ticket for examination. However, because the ticket was no longer intact according to the rules and Circular 75, the company could not resolve the matter.
"The ticket is so small that it cannot be recognized or compared. The company has the ticket but it cannot be compared. I feel very sorry for them, because they are very lucky to win the special prize, but the regulations require that they meet the conditions to be paid" - Mr. Thang informed.
According to the Director of Hau Giang Lottery One Member Co., Ltd., after the company explained, the person happily returned.
