On March 23, authorities in Tien Giang province are investigating the cause and value of property damage in a serious fire involving five fishing boats.
Earlier, at around 0:00 on the same day, a fire broke out at the fishing boat mooring area of people in Vam Lang town, Go Cong Dong district, Tien Giang province.
The fierce fire broke out at 0:00.
Discovering the fierce fire, people around the area quickly tried to put out the initial fire and notified the fire police and rescue force.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Go Cong area (under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Tien Giang Provincial Police) mobilized 3 fire trucks and 10 officers and soldiers to urgently go to the scene to coordinate with local forces to extinguish the fire.
Because the location of the fire was inaccessible by professional fire trucks, the force transported fire fighting equipment to the scene by motorbike.
At the fishing boat anchorage area, it was low tide, and the water source for fire fighting was limited. At the same time, the wind was blowing strongly and the combustible materials inside the fishing boats were mainly wood, oil and flammable materials, so the fire developed complicatedly and spread to engulf 5 fishing boats.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Tien Giang Province Police had to send 3 more fire trucks and 22 officers and soldiers to the scene to coordinate in extinguishing the fire.
