HCMC Women's Club makes a comeback, creating a historic milestone for Vietnamese football

Entering the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup 1, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will face Abu Dhabi Country Club (UAE) in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League Women's (Asian Women's Cup 1) 2024-2025. If they win, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will become the only women's team in Southeast Asia to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

The opponent of the HCMC girls' club is a team that had a very convincing performance in the group stage. Abu Dhabi CC Club created a surprise when they finished in second place, just behind Hyundai Steel. They drew with the opponent ranked above them. Abu Dhabi CC Club even surpassed the extremely strong opponent Wuhan Jiangda, a very strong name from China, the team that had a ticket to the continental cup with a direct entry.

At Thong Nhat Stadium, the girls of HCMC Club were completely defeated by their opponents in the first 45 minutes. Facing opponents with the advantage in physical strength, the girls of HCMC were completely outclassed by their opponents.

HCMC Women's Club is the only representative of Southeast Asia to advance to the semi-finals.
