(NLDO) – The 2025 Skills Show is an opportunity for young workers to experience new professions.
On the evening of March 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in collaboration with the City Youth Employment Service Center organized a 2025 skill performance activity with the theme "Young Labor - High Quality".

The activity aims to introduce trending occupations and economic development strengths of Ho Chi Minh City, promote the movement, spread the spirit of loving the profession of young workers. At the same time, contribute to promoting the image and value of occupations to the general public and international friends.
The event received professional support from experts in various fields, including: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Truong Thinh, Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology - Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; Dr. Nguyen Minh Son, Head of the Faculty of Computer Engineering, University of Information Technology - VNU-HCM; Dr. Trinh Xuan Thang, Acting Director of the Center for Research and Development, Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park; MSc. Ngo Huu Thong, Founding Chairman of DIGISO Group.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Quang Cuong, Director of the City Youth Employment Service Center, head of the Program Organizing Committee, said that this is the first performance on semiconductor microchips - one of the industries with a very open future for young people.
"Semiconductor is an industry that follows the world trend. Currently, Vietnam has had policies to create favorable conditions for development, contributing to training highly skilled human resources in the field of semiconductors" - Mr. Cuong informed.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Cuong said the Skill Show will take place from March 22 to April 12 with many different contents.
According to Mr. Cuong, the event not only aims to create a space for exchange and learning among young workers but also an opportunity for businesses, training facilities and domestic and international organizations to search for and recruit highly skilled human resources.
Besides, this is also an opportunity to emphasize the role of young workers in meeting the increasing demand for quality human resources in technical, high-tech, service and manufacturing industries.
Dr. Nguyen Minh Son, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, University of Information Technology - VNU-HCM, said that the semiconductor industry is quite diverse. To study this industry, young people need to practice skills in analysis, evaluation, design, simulation, etc.
At the same time, according to Dr. Son, in the semiconductor industry, the design field has a fairly high salary, accounting for about 10-15% of job growth. Every year, Vietnamese enterprises need about 800-1200 engineers related to the field of microchip design.
