Authorities in Quang Binh province are urgently verifying information spreading rapidly on social networks about the appearance of a strange virus causing fever in this locality.
In recent days, on the social network Facebook in Quang Binh, information has appeared about a strange type of viral fever in Dong Hoi City, which is said to have symptoms of mild fever, nausea and the risk of affecting the brain. This information quickly spread, attracting attention and causing public confusion.

Faced with that situation, Dr. Huynh Cong Hung, Head of the Department of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Examination and Treatment and Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of the Quang Binh Center for Disease Control (CDC), affirmed that no cases of strange virus infection have been recorded in the area.
According to Dr. Hung, a primary school student in Dong Hoi City had a fever and was taken to Hue Central Hospital by his family for examination. Preliminary diagnosis showed that he had viral encephalitis, a common disease in children and there was no evidence that it was related to the strange virus as spread.
