In recent days, information has been spreading on Facebook: "Dong Hoi is experiencing a strange viral fever in children. Hospitalized, doctors concluded that the strange viral fever can invade the brain and be dangerous. Parents be careful."
On March 13, a representative of the Center for Disease Control of Quang Binh province said that the information about children infected with a strange virus occurring in the province is false, and there have been no recorded cases of the disease caused by the strange virus.
In recent days, on Facebook, information has been spreading that "Dong Hoi is having a strange viral fever in children (symptoms include mild fever for a long time and nausea). Hospitalized, the doctor concluded that the strange viral fever can invade the brain, which is dangerous. Parents, be careful."
After this content was posted, many Facebook users commented and shared. Many people in Quang Binh expressed confusion and concern about the accuracy of this information.
Recently, the province has only recorded 1 primary school student (residing in Dong Hoi city) with fever symptoms, and was taken to Hue Central Hospital by relatives for examination.
The doctor's preliminary diagnosis was that this case was viral encephalitis, a common disease in children.
After receiving information about this case, the unit sent people to monitor and investigate the child's living and studying area, but no similar cases were discovered.
“Currently, the situation of common infectious diseases in Quang Binh is not unusual. The provincial Center for Disease Control is also actively coordinating with units and localities to implement disease prevention and control activities. In particular, measles is at risk of increasing, so the unit conducts regular monitoring and investigation and coordinates to provide supplementary and sweep vaccinations for the subjects," added Dr. Huynh Cong Hung.
