(NLDO) - Awarding certificates of merit from the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to overseas Vietnamese groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in community work
On the morning of January 19, at the Headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien warmly received a delegation of outstanding overseas Vietnamese attending the Homeland Spring Program 2025.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her sincere thanks to President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and the leaders of the Fatherland Front for taking the time to receive the delegation, as well as always paying attention to the work of overseas Vietnamese. The Fatherland Front regularly encourages and rewards individuals and groups of overseas Vietnamese. This is a great source of encouragement, creating motivation for overseas Vietnamese to continue contributing to the community and the country. Today, 8 groups and 18 individuals were recommended to be honored for their practical contributions to the work of building, gathering and uniting the community, which speaks for itself.
The Deputy Minister reported to the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the situation of the overseas Vietnamese community and the Homeland Spring 2025 program with many meaningful activities of the exemplary overseas Vietnamese delegation, such as visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, laying flowers at the monument to heroic martyrs, offering incense at Kinh Thien Palace, attending the carp release ceremony with the President and his wife and the ceremony to present the decision to recognize national treasures. Yesterday, January 18, the delegation visited and connected with Hung Yen province. During the program, the delegation also paid a visit to General Secretary To Lam, Chairman of the National Assembly, worked with the leaders of Hanoi City and attended the program of the President wishing overseas Vietnamese a Happy New Year and performing arts.
At the meeting, a number of overseas Vietnamese shared their thoughts, aspirations, and opinions on promoting national solidarity.
Venerable Thich Duc Tuan (overseas Vietnamese in the US) proposed establishing an official Vietnamese voice station in the US to have a unified voice that is not distorted; building a Vietnamese temple in the US to develop Vietnamese culture and language.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien (overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia), Vietnamese language ambassador in 2023, expressed her wish that students who attended the Vietnamese teaching training course would continue to maintain the use of Vietnamese and connect with professionals.
Mr. Jean Pierre Dinh, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in New Caledonia, said that Vietnamese is the legacy left by parents and he wants to pass it on to his children.
Speaking to congratulate the outstanding overseas Vietnamese delegation attending the Homeland Spring program and visiting the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman Do Van Chien informed about the country's important events in 2024, especially achievements in socio-economics, national defense and security, foreign affairs, etc. The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front said the determination of the Party and State in bringing our country into a new era, an era of national development. Of which, there are 4 key projects agreed to be implemented by the Politburo, namely: Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City high-speed railway project; early completion of Long Thanh international airport; project to restart construction of nuclear power plant; investment in building 2 financial centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam has also upgraded relations with five countries in the United Nations Security Council.
The guiding ideology of the Party and State leaders is that Vietnam participates more deeply in the world economy. Entering a new era of national development is based on Uncle Ho's will. In which, businesses and people are considered the center of all policies.
Regarding the work of the front, last year, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front successfully organized the 10th Congress, in which the number of overseas Vietnamese members increased to 18 delegates. The Committee also submitted and received approval from the Secretariat to pilot the organization of the first overseas Vietnamese solidarity day in 2025 in the Czech Republic.
The Committee has also actively participated in honoring meritorious people and building houses of gratitude for ethnic minorities. The Government and the Fatherland Front Committee are also joining hands to build houses and eliminate dilapidated houses for people in difficulty.
Regarding the recommendations of overseas Vietnamese, the Front Committee will coordinate with relevant agencies to study and find appropriate solutions.
At the program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to award certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Fatherland Front to 8 collectives and 18 individuals of overseas Vietnamese who have made outstanding achievements in community work and towards the homeland.
