The 65th International Mathematical Olympiad will be held from July 11 to July 22, 2024 in the United Kingdom, with 109 delegations from 109 countries and territories and 609 contestants participating. The contestants will go through 2 official competition days, with a duration of 4.5 hours/day.
According to the regulations, the Organizing Committee officially awards prizes to 50% of the participating contestants. In addition, the Organizing Committee awards certificates of merit to students who achieve the maximum score for a math problem.
This year's exam has a challenging structure for participating students, including Vietnamese students, when there are 2 combination problems, 1 at an average level and 1 at a difficult level.
Despite certain difficulties in both the exam questions and the health of some students taking the exam, the Vietnamese student delegation achieved good results and was highly appreciated in the region. This result continues to affirm the right direction in the work of discovering, selecting, nurturing and training excellent students of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The IMO 2024 Organizing Committee will hold the Closing and Awards Ceremony on 21 July 2024, starting at 16:00 (UK time).
