The Vietnam-India bilateral exercise on United Nations peacekeeping 2024 (VINBAX 2024) has ended with remarkable achievements.
The 5th Vietnam-India bilateral exercise on United Nations peacekeeping 2024 (VINBAX 2024) was successfully held at the headquarters of the 474th Engineer Brigade, Chandi Mandir, Haryana state, India.
The closing ceremony of the exercise, which began on November 4, was solemnly held at Kaushalya Dam, Haryana state on November 22.

Attending the closing ceremony on the Vietnamese side were Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Dai - Vietnamese Defense Attaché in India, Mr. Luu Dinh Hien - Commander of the Training Center, Vietnam Peacekeeping Department; on the host country India were Mr. Rajesh Pushkar - Commander-in-Chief of the Kharga Corps, Mr. Sumit Kapoor - Commander of Brigade 474. In addition, the closing ceremony was also attended by 94 officers from both sides and dozens of members of the Indian Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) force.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Brigadier General Sumit Kapoor stated that the purpose of VINBAX is to promote cooperative partnership, promote interoperability and share best practices between the two sides under Chapter VI of the United Nations Charter on peacekeeping operations and HADR operations.
VINBAX 2024 saw the exercise move to a bilateral level with the participation of the two countries’ air forces and drone forces. Many valuable lessons learned during the exercise will help both sides raise professionalism to a new level.
For his part, Colonel Luu Dinh Hien said that after many days of urgent work, VINBAX 2024 ended with remarkable achievements, achieving the set goals and objectives.
VINBAX 2024 marks a significant increase in both the scope of participation, training areas and complexity of the exercise. This is the first time that Vietnam has sent two air force officers to participate in the event as observers.

According to Mr. Luu Dinh Hien, conducting VINBAX 2024 as a field exercise has created an excellent platform and unique opportunity for units and forces of both sides to share best practices, assess achieved standards and enhance joint military capabilities and interoperability in recruiting and deploying an Engineering Company and a Medical Team to perform tasks in United Nations peacekeeping operations, thereby significantly contributing to strengthening the growing bilateral defense relationship within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
In his address, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar said that the India-Vietnam bilateral peacekeeping exercise has further strengthened the shared vision for peace, prosperity and people.
He thanked Vietnam for its successful coordination in organizing VINBAX-2024, contributing to effectively enhancing mutual understanding and enhancing interaction between the two countries. He also affirmed that India and Vietnam continue to play an important role in the Indo-Pacific region and in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and that the bilateral relationship between the two countries is expected to deepen and expand further in the coming years.

The exercise demonstrated seamless coordination between the armed forces, paramilitary forces and civil authorities in carrying out joint disaster relief operations incorporating modern equipment.
