On the afternoon of October 17, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a press conference to inform about the socio-economic situation in the city.

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Chuong, Head of the Department of Organization and Non-Governmental Organizations (Department of Home Affairs), informed about the assignment of two deputy heads of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to manage the Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board (Urban Board) and the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board).

According to Mr. Chuong, in case the head is absent or not directly in charge, the deputy head will replace him, take charge of leading and operating the activities to ensure the activities are continuous and uninterrupted, avoiding affecting the assigned political tasks.

"Therefore, the decision of the City People's Committee to assign the deputy head of the unit to be in charge of leadership, management and operation from October 1 is in accordance with regulations," according to Mr. Chuong.

Previously, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to assign Mr. Le Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, to be in charge of operating this unit.

Mr. Tran Nhu Quoc Bao, Deputy Director of the Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, is in charge of leading and operating the activities of this Board.

In another move, the Ministry of Public Security has just prosecuted two officials in Ho Chi Minh City for “Accepting bribes”. They are Mr. Bui Thanh Tan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board and Mr. Le Thanh Tung, Head of Project 4 Management Board of this Board.
