On March 1, in Hanoi, Party Central Committee member and Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung chaired the ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decisions on the transfer and appointment of Deputy Ministers of Science and Technology.

According to decisions 318 and 366 signed on the same day, February 19, the Prime Minister transferred and appointed two Deputy Ministers of Information and Communications, Bui Hoang Phuong and Pham Duc Long, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology for a term of 5 years.

The decisions take effect from March 1. This is also the day the new Ministry of Science and Technology, a merged ministry from the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Science and Technology, officially comes into operation.
