Diversifying tourism products on the top of Ngan Nua mountain

The historical relic and scenic spot of Ba Trieu uprising including Nua mountain, Nua temple, Am Tien, is a national relic, with potential and advantages for Trieu Son district to promote tourism development, especially spiritual cultural, resort and ecological tourism.

Nua Mountain, Nua Temple, Am Tien is located in Nua Town (Trieu Son), is the place that marks the uprising of Ba Trieu and the brave female general, which is proud and admired by the people of Thanh Hoa in particular and the whole country in general. In 2009, this relic was ranked as a national historical relic - scenic spot. This place is not only known as the place where Ba Trieu raised her army, but also one of the sacred acupuncture points of Vietnam. Every year, from the 9th to the 20th of January, the Nua Temple - Am Tien Festival takes place to commemorate the great contributions of Ba Trieu, her soldiers and our people in the fight against the invading Dong Ngo army.

Arriving at the historical site - scenic spot of the Ba Trieu uprising, after burning incense at Nua Temple, visitors will move to Am Tien to enjoy the scenery and immerse themselves in the wild and charming natural scenery, visit Am Tien Pagoda, Tu Nua Temple worshiping the Taoist priest of the Tran - Ho Dynasty. Due to time and historical events, Am Tien Pagoda and Tu Nua Temple have become ruins. In the 80s of the 20th century, Am Tien Pagoda and Tu Nua Temple were restored and embellished by local people and philanthropists.

Currently, the historical relic - scenic spot of Ba Trieu uprising has been built spaciously to meet the people's wishes. In particular, the gate of Nua temple, water supply system, fire prevention and fighting system, ceremony house, kiosks serving the needs of tourists... have been invested in and built spaciously.

The natural beauty, sacredness and many mysterious stories passed down by people make the historical relic - scenic spot of Ba Trieu uprising even more attractive. In the first 2 months of 2025, this relic welcomed about 35,000 visitors to visit, sightsee, pray for blessings and peace.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong from Vinh Tien commune (Vinh Loc) is a tourist visiting the historical relic - scenic spot of Ba Trieu uprising, said: "The relic's landscape is very beautiful, clean, the staff is friendly and enthusiastic, security and order are guaranteed. The relic also has spacious parking space, convenient traffic. All members of my family are satisfied with the visit here".

Despite attention to restoration and embellishment, the historical relic - national scenic spot of Ba Trieu uprising site has not yet fully exploited its potential and advantages to attract tourists. To enhance the relic, on December 27, 2024, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision approving the Plan for conservation, restoration, embellishment and promotion of the value of the historical relic - national scenic spot of Ba Trieu uprising site including Nua mountain, Nua temple, Am Tien in the period of 2025-2035, with a vision to 2045. Accordingly, a system of accommodation, resorts, and indigenous cultural tourism villages will be developed to maximize the advantages of natural landscapes to meet the needs of domestic and foreign tourists. Investing in the construction of key cultural works on a large scale, applying modern technology to bring the historical and cultural traditions of Thanh land to tourists. Building a cable car line connecting from the foot of the mountain to the top of Am Tien mountain, creating a cultural landscape axis for visitors to have space to stop and admire the beauty of Nua mountain as well as experience folk culture...

This decision is considered an important premise to exploit potentials and advantages, develop tourism types, create jobs, and increase income for people living around the relic.

Secretary of Trieu Son District Party Committee Le Van Tuan said: Trieu Son strives to turn the historical relic, national scenic spot of Ba Trieu uprising into a tourism, cultural and spiritual center. To realize the set goal, the district has stepped up attracting investors to promote the potential and advantages here. Currently, Trieu Son district has granted an investment commitment to Thanh Hoa Cable Car Service and Tourism Company Limited. The investor has committed to invest in Am Tien cable car and commercial service projects, Am Tien cultural landscape axis, service and tourism area with an investment area of ​​nearly 400 hectares.

In the coming time, the district will continue to expand programs to introduce and promote the value of relics and local tourism potential on mass media. Promote investment attraction to build infrastructure to serve tourism development. Strengthen management, conservation and promotion of relic values ​​to take advantage of developing various types of tourism. Focus on training and improving human resources; encourage and create conditions for local communities to participate in and benefit from tourism development; expand and connect tours and tourist routes to relics with major tours and tourist routes in the country, so that relics become national destinations...
