Comrade Tran Thi Huong, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Phan Rang-Thap Cham City, said that in the past time, closely following the guidance of the Department of Education and Training on organizing the provincial-level excellent student selection exam; the selection exam for the team to participate in the national excellent student selection exam; along with the attention and direction of the People's Committee of Phan Rang-Thap Cham City in investing, upgrading facilities, teaching equipment and building a team of teachers with high moral qualities and professional capacity to train and foster excellent students of the city. Therefore, from the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, the Department of Education and Training of the city has developed a Plan on organizing the city-level excellent student selection exam. At the same time, it directed schools to seriously implement the plan; urgently establish and organize the training of excellent student teams to compete at the city and provincial levels.
Comrade Chau Thi Thanh Ha, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Phan Rang - Thap Cham City Party Committee, awarded certificates to students of Tran Phu Secondary School who won silver medals in grade 9, national exam of the English Olympic Contest on the Internet in the 2022-2023 school year.
In that spirit, schools have organized school-level competitions to select students with excellent academic achievements to participate in the competition; assigned teachers with high qualifications and professional capacity; capable of collecting documents, compiling and teaching specialized and in-depth topics; having scientific teaching methods and dedication to their work to train teams to participate in city-level and provincial-level competitions to select excellent students. At the same time, schools are required to support and create maximum conditions for teachers and students to participate in training excellent students; strengthen coordination with parents to pay attention to, create conditions, and encourage children to actively review; fully equip learning tools to confidently achieve the best results in the competition.
Vo Hoang Nhat Thy, a student of class 9/3, Tran Phu Secondary School, won third prize in Literature in the provincial excellent student competition and happily said that thanks to the teachers' dedication in nurturing and reviewing knowledge from basic to advanced, ensuring systematic, scientific and inspiring knowledge, passion for the subject. Thereby, it has motivated him to be confident and make efforts to review for the exam to achieve quite high results in this provincial excellent student competition.
With careful and thorough preparation, the city-level excellent student selection exam attracted a large number of excellent students to participate. Specifically, 387 students took the exam in the subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography. As a result, 139 students were recognized as excellent students at the city level, reaching a rate of 35.9%. Of which, 87 students won prizes (including: 5 First prizes, 11 Second prizes, 23 Third prizes and 48 Encouragement prizes). For the provincial excellent student selection exam, 97 students took the exam in the subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, and Informatics. As a result, 64 students won prizes, accounting for 42.7% of the total number of students winning prizes in the province. Of which, there were 4 First prizes, 22 Second prizes, and 38 Third prizes.

The emulation movement of good teaching - good learning in the education and training sector of the city and schools has been maintained, developed and spread throughout the sector. In particular, the city's students have all achieved high prizes in competitions and exams organized by the Department of Education and Training, especially the excellent student movement in cultural subjects, and for many consecutive years have been the leading unit in the whole province. These results have contributed positively to improving people's knowledge, training human resources, nurturing talents and contributing to the implementation of the goals and tasks of socio-economic development of the city. In the coming time, the locality will continue to pay attention to investing resources in education; Direct the city's education and training sector to continue to make efforts to innovate thinking and management to train human resources for comprehensive development.
