People transact at the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, after the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document allowing the use of the current land price list to calculate taxes while waiting for the issuance of the new land price list, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department requested tax branches in the area to work on Saturdays and Sundays to resolve pending records, and not to cause trouble, harassment, or negativity.
On the morning of September 22, the Tax Department of District 12 - Hoc Mon District mobilized more than 20 officers from the department to calculate personal income tax on real estate transactions, land use fees for land certificate issuance files, land use purpose conversion and other revenues from land.
An officer of the Tax Department of District 12 - Hoc Mon District, said that there are many pending real estate records so the tax calculation department has to concentrate all its forces to handle them.
Accordingly, based on the current land price list (old land price list), real estate transaction information provided by the Land Registration Office of District 12 and Hoc Mon District, tax officials calculate the tax amount and then upload the results to the system, transfer to the land registration office. From there, this unit notifies taxpayers to fulfill their financial obligations and complete real estate transaction procedures.
Similarly, leaders of the Phu Nhuan District Tax Department, the District 7 - Nha Be District Tax Department and many other departments also said that in order to quickly resolve the real estate tax issue, the tax calculation departments will work without days off until the backlog of real estate transaction records is almost resolved.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department sent documents to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee three times proposing solutions to remove bottlenecks in land records from August 1, in accordance with the provisions of the 2024 Land Law.
According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, in the past month, a total of nearly 100 dossiers have been received. Of these, 346 dossiers were for land use fee collection in cases of land use right recognition and 277 dossiers were for land use fee collection in cases of land use purpose change.
In addition, there are 5,448 personal income tax records from real estate transfers and 2,737 records in cases where no financial obligations arise.
