(Dan Tri) - President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia is considering various options to respond to long-range weapons attacks on its territory.

"The Russian Defense Ministry is considering how to respond to possible long-range strikes on Russian territory, they will come up with a range of responses," President Putin told television reporter Pavel Zarubin in an online speech posted on Zarubin's Telegram channel on October 27.
Asked whether NATO countries had listened to his previous warnings that strikes with long-range weapons would draw countries supplying long-range missiles to Ukraine into direct conflict, President Putin said: "They haven't told me anything about that, but I hope they have heard. Because we will have to make some decisions for ourselves."
President Putin said it was still early to reveal exactly how, when and where Russia would respond, but Moscow would respond in kind if long-range strikes were launched on Russian territory.
"We will respond accordingly. But how, when and where we will respond is still too early to announce," Mr. Putin emphasized.
The Kremlin chief added that only military personnel from NATO countries could operate the equipment Ukraine wanted to use because Kiev did not have the necessary specialists.
According to President Putin, technically, strikes with long-range weapons can only be carried out directly by the armies of NATO countries, not by Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian army is not capable of doing this independently, they cannot,” Mr Putin said.
The Russian president stressed that only NATO specialists can carry out this task because it requires space intelligence, which Ukraine lacks, and specialists will use data from this intelligence to carry out tasks and carry out "a series of other operations."
Mr Putin warned that the direct involvement of Western countries would change the nature of the conflict and Moscow would be forced to make decisions based on the threats it could pose to Russia.
Ukraine has long appealed to its Western allies to allow it to use its weapons aid to strike at long-range targets on Russian territory. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly criticized his Western partners for not providing all the weapons Kiev needs to counter Russia. He has also blamed the West for delays in delivering aid, which has cost Ukraine a lot of money.
The US and UK are said to be close to lifting longstanding restrictions on the use of weapons to Ukraine, but there has been no official announcement to this effect.
The West is divided on the idea of allowing Ukraine to use weapons to attack targets deep inside Russia. Countries such as Sweden, Finland and Canada have signaled their willingness to support the idea, while Germany has been more cautious.
In June, President Putin warned that Moscow could deploy conventional missiles within striking range of the United States and its European allies if they allowed Ukraine to strike deeper into Russian territory with long-range Western weapons.
