Ensuring adequate electricity supply is one of the fundamental factors promoting economic breakthroughs, and at the same time plays a decisive role in the industrialization and modernization of Long An province in the coming time.

In order to achieve the above goal, the Provincial People's Committee has issued many drastic directives to ensure power sources for production, business and people's daily life. However, the implementation of power source projects still faces many difficulties related to mechanisms and policies.

In the coming period, the province's socio-economic development goals set much higher requirements than before. The province's economic growth rate is expected to reach 8.5-9% in 2025, striving to reach 10-11%. This requires the electricity growth rate to be 1.5 times higher, equivalent to an annual average of 15% to over 16.5%.

This is a big challenge. Without timely solutions to develop power sources, especially baseload power sources, green power, clean power, and sustainability, the risk of power shortage will become serious, especially in the period 2026-2028.

To proactively respond and ensure that there is absolutely no power shortage under any circumstances, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut requested that organizations and individuals seriously and resolutely implement electricity saving according to Directive No. 1927/CT-UBND, dated July 6, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023-2025 and the following years.

At the same time, implement Plan No. 3661/KH-UBND, dated December 14, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Directive No. 20/CT-TTg, dated June 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister on electricity saving.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the heads of provincial departments, branches and organizations; Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; Director of Long An Electricity Company , Director of Long An Energy Group Company Limited; units operating in the electricity sector and investors of industrial parks and clusters are responsible for ensuring sufficient electricity supply to serve socio-economic development in the period of 2025-2030, ensuring national energy security in the new era, the era of digital transformation and high-tech development. This is a particularly important political task, requiring the highest sense of responsibility from the units.

The head of the provincial People's Committee requested to mobilize the entire political system and focus all resources to accelerate the completion of power source and transmission projects within the scope of management. Absolutely do not let the project stagnate due to delays in handling administrative procedures.

Closely and synchronously coordinate in implementing tasks under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee on electricity saving, ensuring electricity supply for production, business and people's consumption in 2025 and especially in the period of 2026-2030.

Regarding implementation solutions, the Provincial People's Committee's Directive clearly states that effective energy saving is implemented in public lighting, advertising lighting, and outdoor decoration by applying smart technology and using solar energy.

Maximum support for businesses and people in installing and using self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power according to Decree No. 135/2024/ND-CP, dated October 22, 2024, contributing to reducing pressure on the national power system.

At the same time, promote propaganda and mobilization so that people can soon hand over the land to serve the construction of power grid projects. Local leaders must directly direct and coordinate with relevant units to ensure that the land is handed over as soon as the boundary is established, avoiding affecting the project progress and energy security,.../.
