On September 12, in Hanoi, Vietnam Environment and Urban Magazine in collaboration with Informa Markets Vietnam Company held a press conference to introduce the 14th International Exhibition and Conference on Water Supply and Sewerage Industry, Water Purification Technology, Wastewater Treatment in Vietnam (VIETWATER 2023) and Exhibition on Transportation, Waste Treatment and Environmental Technology in Vietnam (WETV2023).

Accordingly, VIETWATER 2023 and WETV 2023 will be held at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), 799 Nguyen Van Linh, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, from October 11-13.

The event is a place to display the most advanced technologies, products and solutions in the fields of water resources management; water filtration, industrial wastewater treatment; urban water supply and drainage; irrigation, water-related fields; transportation, waste treatment and environmental technology.

As a prominent event in the Vietnamese water industry, VIETWATER 2023 promises to bring an extensive trade program with rich content to serve agencies, businesses and individuals operating in the fields of water, wastewater and waste treatment in particular and the environment in general.

VIETWATER 2023 is supported and accompanied by international associations, agencies and organizations such as the Water Sector Management Department of the ASEAN-US Association for Science & Technology (ASEAN S&T); Global Water Partnership Network in Vietnam (GWP); Southeast Asia Regional Network on Water, Environment and Earth Sciences (SEAGU); Singapore Water Association (SWA); German Water Association (GWP); British Water Association; Taiwan Water Equipment Association, China (TEMA); Taiwan Drinking Water Equipment Association, China (TDWEDA), Embassy of the Netherlands, Daegu, Korea, Swissenviro and many other organizations in the region.

With an exhibition area of ​​up to 10,000m2, VIETWATER 2023 introduces categories of technology for treatment, monitoring, management, water supply and drainage, wastewater, industrial and urban waste; sludge treatment technology; rainwater; ultra-pure water; bottled water production technology; desalination and dehydration; disinfection & biological pollution technology; natural treatment systems; non-revenue water (NRW); nutrient removal and recovery; particle removal; products for irrigation; irrigation, drainage; membranes/filters; smart meters; pipes, water accessories; pumps and valves; water testing & measuring instruments; green technologies, water reuse, sustainable water technology; solid waste management technology and many other product categories related to water and waste.

In addition to the exhibition space, VIETWATER 2023 also has an international conference program with a topic that is attracting a lot of attention from the domestic and international business community, which is the conference: "Promoting the connection of practical needs in smart water management".

The program has the participation of leading speakers in the industry from water management agencies and domestic and international associations such as: Dr. Bach Tan Sinh, Representative of Mekong Sustainable Research Network in Vietnam, Senior Advisor of the Institute for Circular Economy Development, former Executive Director of the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research (NISTPASS), Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Kees van Baar, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Vietnam; Dr. Ir. Ts. Mohmad Asari Daud, President of the Malaysian Water Association; Atty. Vicente Homer R. Revil, Water Management Agency of the Philippines; Professor Vu Minh Cat, former Dean, Co-founder of the International Network for Groundwater Research for Sustainable Development (ISGSD) in Vietnam...

Through these discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to assessments and shares from famous speakers in the international water industry, as well as apply science and technology to help the Vietnamese water industry develop sustainably, using water resources economically and effectively.

VIETWATER 2023 also organizes the "Business Matching Programme", aiming to connect potential buyers with more than 450 suppliers from around the world present at the Exhibition.

In addition, WETV 2023 also introduces advanced, sustainable solutions serving the waste treatment, environment and transportation industry in Vietnam, with the exhibition portfolio focusing on 5 main categories, including: Waste management and recycling; Technology and equipment, control and treatment of industrial emissions; Technology and equipment, control and removal of dust, industrial gases; Air filtration and cleaning; Environmental monitoring and measurement.

Within the framework of this year's WETV exhibition, Informa Markets cooperated with the Vietnam Urban Environment and Industrial Zone Association and the Vietnam Waste Recycling Association to organize a workshop with the theme "Policies & Solutions to reduce waste towards a circular economy in Vietnam".

This event not only helps attendees grasp the latest information on policies and waste management situation in Vietnam but also supports them in finding optimal solutions, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in Vietnam.

At the press conference, Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Hoi, Vice President of the Vietnam Waste Recycling Association, gave an overview report on the current status of environmental pollution, waste management and recycling in Vietnam.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Thai Dai, Senior Expert of the Vietnam Water Resources Association and the Southeast Asian Network of Water, Environment and Earth Science Technology, also presented on the current situation, challenges and opportunities for sustainable development of Vietnam's water sector.

Mr. BT Tee - General Director of Informa Markets Vietnam, the organizer of VIETWATER 2023, shared: "We all know the importance of water in planning sustainable development. Water is the solution to many crises, from climate change, biodiversity loss, inequality to human health, the environment and the economy.

The first step towards achieving efficient urban, industrial and irrigation water management is to ensure adequate provision of water and wastewater treatment technologies.

That is also the mission of VIETWATER, when converging the most advanced water and waste treatment technologies in the world, along with a lot of experience from leading experts in the industry, helping businesses face and overcome current challenges."

Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam Kees van Baar also said that the participation of Dutch businesses in the exhibition is also a testament to the concern of the Netherlands in general and Dutch businesses in particular for the environment in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Netherlands wishes to bring the best wastewater treatment technologies; contributing to the common development of the two countries towards carbon neutrality and green economic development.
