Through the Exhibition to introduce Vietnam's Defense Industry to the world

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will take place from December 19-22 at Gia Lam Airport, Hanoi, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. This is an important milestone, affirming the maturity and growth of the Vietnam People's Army over the past 80 years. Up to now, all preparations for the exhibition have been and are being completed.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien directed the rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the Exhibition.

Sharing the value, importance and significance of this Exhibition, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense said that this Exhibition will contribute to strengthening international cooperation in the defense industry, sharing experiences, receiving and transferring technology, grasping advanced technology trends in the world so that we can research, design and manufacture weapons and technical equipment; meeting military requirements and defense tasks in the new situation. The Exhibition also promotes and introduces branded products; Vietnamese defense industry products; promotes trade, seeks partners, cooperation opportunities and potential markets to participate in the production of defense industry products reaching the world market.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense presented gifts to encourage soldiers at the rehearsal.

According to Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, this is also an opportunity for us to introduce the country, culture, and people of Vietnam; the military culture of the Vietnam People's Army; build trust, mutual understanding, promote peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world. In addition, it arouses and spreads national pride and a sense of responsibility among officers, soldiers, and people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Through the exhibition, we will accumulate experience and practical lessons to build and promote the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition.

Rehearsing the performance to prepare for the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition.

This exhibition is larger in scale than the first time in 2022. The types of weapons and equipment in the Vietnam People's Army are displayed in large quantities, diversely, and abundantly, and the number of domestically produced industrial and technical logistics products is displayed more; attracting a large number of companies from participating countries. Among them, there are countries with the world's leading military potential and defense industry such as: USA, UK, France, Spain, Germany, India... The total area of the exhibition area has doubled to more than 100,000 m2. The area of outdoor exhibition areas as well as indoor booths are larger than the first exhibition.

“The expanded scale of the exhibition shows that we are on the right track in our efforts to build Vietnam’s defense exhibition brand, so that this will become an attractive biennial meeting place for corporations, companies, defense production researchers, and agencies, units, and armed forces to seek opportunities for cooperation, meetings, and exchanges, bringing benefits to all parties,” said Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien.

Special forces soldiers enthusiastically practice to prepare for the opening ceremony of the Exhibition.

Regarding the guests attending the exhibition, in addition to the Minister of National Defense, there was also a delegation of the Chief of the General Staff, Commander of the National Defense Forces; Deputy Minister of National Defense and commanders of the armies and military branches of various countries. All of these are evidence affirming the trust of international friends in Vietnam.

To turn the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition into a national brand on par with the region and the world, according to Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, first of all, it is necessary to improve the professionalism in the organization. Constantly innovate the content and organization methods; create a unique mark, have competitiveness so that this is not only a place to display the most advanced and modern weapons and equipment in the world but also bring technological solutions, share experiences, promote international military trade. At the same time, so that visitors can witness the achievements of the defense industry that is booming in the world as well as visit the products of the Vietnamese defense industry.
