Determined to develop Son Tra faster and more firmly in the new period

At the ceremony, the Party Committee, government and people of Son Tra district reviewed the glorious history of the Party and the people, and remembered the contributions of previous generations. 95 years since the founding of the Party Committee and 50 years since the liberation, the Party Committee and people of Son Tra have always promoted patriotism, the desire for independence; the spirit of resilience in the resistance war; and the spirit of innovation and creativity in building the homeland.

From a land that suffered many war wounds, Son Tra has risen to become a dynamic coastal district, with famous tourist areas such as Son Tra peninsula, My Khe beach, Linh Ung pagoda, and modern urban projects. The district's economy has grown steadily with an average annual GRDP rate of over 7%, an estimated per capita income of 4,000 USD by 2025, and synchronous infrastructure investment with coastal routes, high-end resorts, and developed seaports.

Speaking at the ceremony, Son Tra District Party Secretary Phung Phu Phong acknowledged that after nearly three decades of many changes, since Da Nang became a centrally-governed city (1997), Son Tra has taken advantage of its geographical location, tourism potential and the attention of the Da Nang City Party Committee as well as the Central Government to develop rapidly. Major projects such as Son Tra Nature Reserve, Linh Ung Pagoda spiritual tourism area, and coastal resorts have made Son Tra an attractive destination on the international tourism map.

“We are proud that Son Tra contributes significantly to the city's sustainable development strategy according to Resolution 43-NQ/TW, with the goal of building Da Nang into an ecological, modern, smart and livable city,” the Son Tra District Party Secretary shared.

Mr. Phung Phu Phong emphasized that in order to continue the tradition of "loyalty and steadfastness" of the Party Committee and the people, and to develop Son Tra steadily in the future, each cadre and party member must be a shining example of qualities, ethics, sense of responsibility and working capacity. It is necessary to continue to promote the spirit of "leadership of the people", close to the people, understand the people, and serve the people. Focus on developing the economy - tourism in a sustainable and modern direction, promoting the advantages of geographical location and tourism resources. Promote smart planning, attract selective investment, aiming to build Son Tra into a center of eco-tourism and high-class resorts. Continuously improve the quality of people's lives, build a civilized and livable urban area.

Son Tra District Party Secretary Phung Phu Phong presented flowers to express gratitude to the Armed Forces Heroes and representatives of the 44 forces of Quang Da Special Zone.

Along with that, focus on doing well the work of social security, education, and health. Promote the movement of building "Urban Culture - Civilization", so that Son Tra is not only beautiful in terms of landscape but also beautiful in the lifestyle and behavior of the people. Son Tra is not only a tourist center but also a green lung of Da Nang. Do well the work of national defense - security, ensure political security, social order and safety.

According to the Secretary of the Son Tra District Party Committee, the implementation of abolishing the district level, including Son Tra District, will be carried out before June 30, 2025. To prepare for this change, the Son Tra District Party Committee has directed authorities at all levels to coordinate with the City Party Committee to review, adjust planning, and rearrange the apparatus of cadres and civil servants, ensuring that it does not affect people's lives and socio-economic activities in the area.

Promoting the heroic revolutionary spirit of the historic March days, on behalf of the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son Tra District, Son Tra District Party Secretary Phung Phu Phong called on the entire Party Committee, soldiers and people of Son Tra District to unite, join hands, bring their passion, talent and intelligence to overcome all difficulties and challenges; affirming the determination to continue the tradition, build Son Tra homeland to be increasingly rich, civilized and modern, contributing to the sustainable development of Da Nang city.

“Let’s join hands to launch a vibrant patriotic emulation movement, achieve outstanding results to celebrate major holidays in 2025, towards the Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Congress of the Party. Continue to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style, determined to make Son Tra develop faster and more firmly in the new period”, said the Secretary of the Son Tra District Party Committee.
