Phu Yen Teacher Nguyen Bao Toan is always on hand to pick up and drop off a student to take the exam because he suffered a traumatic brain injury after a traffic accident.
More than a month ago, female student Van Thi Kim Thi, grade 12 student at Le Trung Kien High School, Dong Hoa town, had a traffic accident, causing a traumatic brain injury. After treatment, Thi had difficulty walking, was mentally unstable, and had little contact with friends.
Mr. Toan, Vice Principal, said that after the accident, the school teachers came to encourage her, but the female student refused to take the graduation exam. Therefore, he once again went to her house to share and advise her, and the candidate agreed.

For peace of mind, for many days now, Mr. Toan has been taking his students to the exam room himself, and with volunteers taking care of their health.
"Not only Thi, I have supported many students, what I wish is for them to have good results to enter university," said Mr. Toan.
According to him, this year, Le Trung Kien High School has no cases of skipping the high school graduation exam. The school and organizations always have plans to handle unusual situations that occur outside the school, inside the exam site; arrange forces to protect exam papers and test papers on exam days according to regulations.
Mr. Vo Tan Truong, 47 years old, Thi's father, said he has three children, Thi is the eldest. Before the traffic accident, Thi was a good girl, studied well, and helped her parents with housework. He said that at one point his daughter promised to pass the university entrance exam, but now all he wants is for her to be healthy and resilient with treatment.
The 2023 high school graduation exam in Phu Yen has 10,500 candidates. Many candidates said that the exam was easy enough to get a good score if they had a solid grasp of basic knowledge. The exam scores were announced at 8:00 a.m. on July 18.
