Due to a conflict related to a text message about borrowing a dress, a group of young girls beat up a 7th grade female student in Song Cau Town (Phu Yen) and then posted the clip on Facebook, making many people angry.
On the afternoon of March 11, a leader of the People's Committee of Xuan Thinh Commune (Song Cau Town, Phu Yen) said that the authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the case of a group of young girls beating up a 7th grade female student, then filming the clip and posting it on social media.
According to the initial report of the incident, about a month ago, NTLN (16 years old, in Xuan Canh commune, Song Cau town) went to Xuan Thinh commune to play and then met and became friends with PTTC (13 years old, student at Dinh Tien Hoang Secondary School, Xuan Thinh commune). On March 6, C. texted via Facebook asking to borrow N.'s dress to wear to a birthday party, but N. did not allow it, so they exchanged words and then a conflict arose.
On March 9, N. took two friends to Xuan Thinh commune and met C. and his friend T. walking. N.'s group dragged C. and T. onto a motorbike, drove them to an area near Hoa Hiep Primary School, beat C., and used their phones to record the clip.
After beating C., seeing someone passing by, N.'s group pulled C. and T. into the car and took them to another location, continuing to beat them.
On March 10, a clip of the group beating C. was widely spread on social media, causing anger and frustration among many people.
On the evening of March 10, Xuan Thinh Commune Police worked with the victim and those involved in the beating of a 7th grade female student to handle and clarify the incident.
