The Ban Vuong Festival in Phuong Thien commune takes place in two parts: the ceremony and the festival. For the ceremony, the shamans perform a ceremony to ask the gods and the land spirits to welcome Ban Vuong down from the altar and receive offerings from his descendants. Interspersed with the prayers and incense offering rituals are unique sword dances and bell dances, reenacting the biography of Ban Vuong in the past. The dances intertwine and blend elements of worldly labor and religion, expressing the harmony between the two worlds. Immediately after the ceremony, the festival takes place with many cultural and artistic activities and folk sports competitions.
