Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong and more than 600 union members and youth in the area attended the ceremony.
For Youth Month 2025, Kien Giang Provincial Youth Union set out a number of targets such as supporting funding to build 2 economic development models for youth, including at least 1 model for ethnic minority youth; planting and caring for 70,000 new trees; organizing 5 job fairs or job fairs; coordinating to open 10 vocational training classes, 30 science and technology transfer classes for youth; and building at least 5 new youth cooperatives.
The Youth Unions at all levels in the province have helped at least 5,000 children in difficult circumstances; organized 70 free swimming classes for children. The District and City Youth Unions have supported at least 1 disadvantaged youth in the commune, ward, or town; and have at least 1 youth project. The grassroots Youth Unions have at least 1 project or youth work to participate in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
Regarding the organization and building of the Youth Union, the whole province admitted 7,000 members; introduced at least 2,000 outstanding members for the Party to consider and admit; established at least 1 Youth Union organization in a non-state enterprise.
Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong presented a symbolic plaque supporting the lighting project to a representative of Phu Quoc City Youth Union.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong hoped that Kien Giang's youth would further promote the spirit of "Wherever needed, there are youth, wherever difficult, there are youth". Each member and youth should see their responsibility in the face of new opportunities and fortunes of the country; be proactive and positive in studying, researching, training, starting a business, and establishing a career.
Youth Unions at all levels in the province effectively carry out activities to support young people in starting businesses and developing the economy; participate in building new rural areas and cultural and civilized urban areas; and organize volunteer activities for social security.
Leaders of Kien Giang Provincial Youth Union visited and presented gifts to policy families in Phu Quoc City.
On this occasion, the Provincial Youth Union and units presented 48 gifts to former youth volunteers, youth and students in difficult circumstances and 20 bicycles to poor students in Phu Quoc City.
The Standing Committee of Kien Giang Provincial Youth Union mobilized over 1 billion VND to support district and city Youth Unions to carry out projects and tasks for youth to join hands in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas in the province.
