The illegal wharfs in Thanh Mien have stopped operating to dismantle the illegal constructions.

Thanh Mien district has 13 riverside and inland canal wharves, mainly for gathering construction materials. After review, there are 5 wharves along Luoc River in Hong Phong commune that are suitable for planning. Of which, 1 wharve has ceased operation, the remaining 4 wharves are temporarily suspended to complete related legal procedures.

8 yards that do not comply with planning are concentrated in Tu Cuong commune and Thanh Mien town. To date, the district has cleared 1 illegal yard. The remaining yards are having their crane pillars and piers demolished; construction materials, concrete piles, etc. are being moved to restore the site. The district strives to complete clearing these yards before September 15.

In June, Thanh Mien District Police fined four landfills in Tu Cuong Commune and Thanh Mien Town a total of VND20 million for dumping sand of unknown origin.
