True to its name, the concert brought the audience a musical journey from the Classical to the Romantic period, introducing representative works by three great composers: Gioachino Rossini, Franz Krommer, and Felix Mendelssohn.

The Hanoi Symphony Orchestra brings delicate, romantic and inspiring sounds.

The concert was conducted by conductor Yuri Tkachenko - Honored Artist of Russia (2002), conductor and Artistic Director of the Orenburg State Symphony Orchestra (Orenburg, Russia). The program featured Clarinet artist Hoang Ngoc Anh Quan. He studied in the Netherlands and has made many contributions to the country's art scene in the roles of education and performance. People's Artist Bui Cong Duy participated as artistic director, contributing to the orientation and professional quality of the concert.

As the first notes of the overture from the opera "The Barber of Seville" sounded, the auditorium gradually immersed itself in a delicate, passionate space, allowing emotions to open the door to the colorful world of classical music.

Continuing the program, talented artist Hoang Ngoc Anh Quan brought the Concerto for Clarinet in E-flat major, Op. 36 by Franz Krommer.

Closing the concert was Felix Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4 "Italia" in A major. This work was composed after Mendelssohn's trip to Italy and recorded his deep impressions of this beautiful country.

Not only bringing famous concertos from the world's music treasure, the program is also an ambitious art project, marking the meaningful artistic cooperation between artist Bui Cong Duy and international guest artists. The performance lasted 90 minutes but the endless applause made the artists linger on stage to perform in gratitude to the audience.

The predecessor of the Hanoi Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra is a joint effort of professors, lecturers, soloists and excellent students of the Academy of Music.

The concert “Masterpieces of Classicism and Romanticism” is the first program to open the 2025 performance season of the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra.
