On March 21, Major Nguyen Van Sau, Chief of Police of Huong Son Commune, Lang Giang District, Bac Giang Province, said that there was no kidnapping of a second-grade student at Huong Son Primary School. The reason was that the child made it up to tease his aunt.

Previously, on March 18, on social networks appeared a picture of a document from Huong Son Primary School sent to the People's Committee and the Police of Huong Son Commune, with the content: on the afternoon of March 17, student Lang Ngoc P, class 2H, on the way home from school (going to the new road from National Highway 37 to Provincial Road 295), a white car stopped, in the car there was a man sitting in the driver's seat, a woman got out of the car and approached the student to give her a jelly. The student had been reminded by the teacher to be careful not to take the jelly and pushed it away. At this time, the female subject asked "where do you live?". The student pointed out that her house was just over 100 meters away. The female subject said: "I'm going the same way, get in the car and I'll take you home", the student said "I won't go". While they were struggling like that, they met a young man on a motorbike. Seeing that, the young man shouted "are you kidnapping children?". So the female subject got in the car, started the engine and drove away...

In the document, Huong Son Primary School also stated that, through the above incident, the school has taken measures such as instructing homeroom teachers of each class to increase reminders and life skills education for students; notifying the zalo group of parents of each class; notifying via text message the electronic contact book to parents of all students in the school; notifying groups so that everyone can be vigilant; at the same time, the school reported to the People's Committee and the Police of Huong Son commune to know, take measures to strengthen security and order in the area, ensure safety for staff, teachers and students of the school, and avoid similar incidents from happening.

After the information appeared on social networks, many parents were worried and confused, and continued to share it in many groups.

Major Nguyen Van Sau, Chief of Huong Son Commune Police, said that upon receiving the above information, the Commune Police focused on verifying and clarifying the incident. The results of the camera extraction showed that there was no white car accompanying P on the way home as she said; the cars on the road did not stop when they met P but continued to go at normal speed. P appeared to be leisurely on the way home, showing no signs of fear or panic. During the time P was on her way home, there were many people walking on this road. Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, who was working in a nearby garden, also confirmed that he saw P walking home and did not see any cars stopping.

"The working group of Huong Son Commune Police came to the family to talk with P. He admitted that when he got home, he lied to his aunt, "I didn't come to pick you up so someone tried to kidnap you," in order to tease her," Major Nguyen Van Sau added.

Huong Son Commune Police have notified local agencies, units and organizations of the verification results, and at the same time requested people to withdraw false information shared on social networks. Through the above incident, it can be seen that the handling of information, especially sensitive information related to many people, needs to be extremely careful. In this case, Huong Son Primary School should proactively coordinate with the police to verify the incident, and only make a public announcement when there are official results; they should not just listen to the story and then send messages to groups and issue documents as if confirming the incident is real. In addition, each person needs to be careful when sharing information, especially unverified information on social networks, to avoid causing public confusion.
